Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2013
Yum!Yum! Yum! Yummy!!! This was so good. I did use bone in chops, doubled the mushrooms and soup, and served with mashed taters!! I did bake the meal in the oven because I was way behind in laundry and it all tasted good. Even my picky husband, who thinks that the only acceptable way to cook chops involves shake-n=bake, mashed taters, and peas liked this!!! So did my teens!! I will add this to the list of yummy dinners!!!

Spanish Rice Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2012
Yum, yum, yummy!!! This was so super easy and quick to prep that I was sure I had done something wrong or left something out. I did not brown the meat in a seperate pan then transfer to the pot...I did it all in the pot and no draining. The only thing I added was a can of canned corn, drained, and it was delish!! This would be a perfect dish to make ahead, store in the fridge or feeze, to enjoy later!!! I was a little worried about some of the ingredients but when it all came together it was wonderful. My husband is VERY picky and thought this was very good!! Five stars from the entire family!!! Thank you so very much for a wonderful, easy, and tasty dinner!!!

Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2011
Yum, yum, yummy!!!!! My family has been in a pork chop rut for SO long so I have been searching high and low for some different ways to cook the other white meat besides Shake and Bake and this hit the bill. I have some open minded eaters to serve and it was a hit. However, even my picky micky eaters gave this two thumbs up. I kept the ingredients true to the recipe but I did use the sauce to marinade the chops and then once they were on the grill I used the side burner as a dipping station to reheat the sauce and then used it for dipping the chops as they were grilling!!! I know many of you will frown on this way of cooking but I have done it many times with a chicken wings recipe from this site and love the extra punch of flavor with no ill effects to my family!!! Next time I might add some Crystal hot sauce to spice things up a bit!!! Give this a recipe a chance and you will not be sorry!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for such a great way to cook chops!!!

Mama's Asian Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2011
I have made this twice and loved it both times!! We are not big fans of crushed red pepper so I use cheyenne pepper instead. We are veggie lovers so doubled the sauce and added a boad load of veggies; broccoli, small corn, red peppers, mushrooms, carrots...part of the dinner rotation!!!!

Spaghetti Squash I

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
Yum, yum, yum!!! This was such a nice change of pace for a standard veggie in our home. I love the contrast of flavors between the sweetness of the squash, the sharpness of the feta, and the textures of the olives and tomatos!! I made it just as written but would experiment with spinach, mushrooms, and even broccoli!! Give it a chance!!! It is very yummy!!!!

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
Even though I modified this recipe, I still gave if five stars for a few reasons: 1) I only had the cabbage in the boiling water until I could peel off leaves. This took the most time...waiting for the leaves to fall away from the head of cabbage. I just started cutting away at the core as needed until I had enough leaves. 2) I used jar sauce!! I hate to say it...but I have not found a weekend to make REALLY good sauce. 3) I put it all, as recommended in this recipe minus my minor modifications, in the crock pot on low for 8.5 hours....it was the best ever!! I have made this recipe three times and putting in the crock pot made the best ever cabbage rolls!!! Will I make this again? Yes as I did above!! It is a perfect, simple, easy meal for those of us on the go!!! Love it!!

Grilled Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
I have NEVER thougth about making wings at home but let tell you these were a HUGE hit. Because I have younger ladies in the house I did make a "sisssy" sauce of store brand bbq sauce and honey and these were almost gone...only one left! Because I am a bit lazy and Sunday meals, which is when this was cooked, is happy hour day, I baked the two different batches with the sauce for about 30 minutes in the oven. Then I placed them on the grill, basting them in the sauces between turns, until we had the right amount of crispiness. I have to say they were wonderful!!! The flavors of this sauce is wonderful...just when you think you might be getting more heat than you can handle everything calms down!! These are really great and will be added to our finger lickin' good weekend dinner rotation!!!

Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
There are very few meals that appeal to all of my family members but this one made us feel like we were eating out on a weekday!! I doubled the ingredients but still did not need a 9X13 pan. Other than leaving out the chips, no other modifications. I have already added this to the dinner rotation. My younger daughter said this would be great for a party with chips...like a think con queaso!! It is very good and worth trying!!!

Chicken Enchiladas I

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2010
I made this recently for my daughters sleepover and 4 out of 4 girls gave this two thumbs up!!! One little lady would have given more thumbs up if she had more thumbs. I sauteed the chicken in taco seasoning and, like other reviewers, left out the water and I was still worried about how moist it was. It was a bit time consuming to make because I had the shred the cheese myself, would not do this if it was a weeknight!!! It was yummy and plan to make it this weekend...maybe a double batch just in case I have a lazy night!!!!

Spinach and Feta Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2010
Yum, yum, yum!!! Can I rate these burgers with six stars?!? I followed this recipe to a "T" and loved them. Buuuuuut......I think next time I will add some Crystal hot sauce. Not because they needed it but because I LIKE it!!! The options with these burgers are endless...jalapenos, diced green onions, chili pepper...endless options!!! Thank you so much for a wonderful and healthy burger! I figured each burger only had half an ounce of feta cheese which is nothing calorie wise!!! Try them, change the cheese or the spinach, but try them!!! I used ground turkey, not turkey breast, I think that helped them stay moist on the grill!!! These will now be part of our menu rotation!!!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
Recently my hours increased at work so I purchased a new slow cooker and came here to find some great recipes!!! I was not disappointed by this one. I did not add the soup mix due to sodium concerns, added veggies under the roast and no water. IT WAS A HUGE HIT!!! Whenever my husband goes back for seconds I am pleased...tonight he went back for thirds!!! Even my girls commented on how wonderful the house smelled when we got home and how good the roast looked!!!! Tweak this for your family's likes but try this!!! Yummy and satisfing!!! Thank you for inspiring me to keep the slow cooker on the counter top for a long, long time. I am even planning on taking the thing on our beach vacation so I can stay OUT of the kitchen as much as possible!!!! Try it...you'll like it!!!

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
I am not a big broccoli fan, mostly due to the fact that my husband likes it cooked to almost baby food consistantcy and it makes my house stink when I cook it. However, love this recipe, but did add a small sprinkle of parm cheese. Yum, yum!!

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
I have now made these cookies twice; once for a cookie swap at church and on Christmas Eve for Santa and both times they are a huge hit. The oatmeal offers a great texture. I only changes made was with the portion and the butter. I used 1/2 TBLS instead of TBLS. Still cooked them for the same amount of time and they came out perfect. I also substituded Crisco butter flavored instead of butter and they came out tall and fluffy. Please try these cookies...they really are OUTRAGEOUS!!!

Quick Yeast Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
I realized very late in the afternoon that I did not have rolls to go with my lasagna for my husbands birhtday dinner so I came to AR to find one. At first this seemed pretty easy to put together and I had all the supplies on hand. I did loose faith in the rolls when I tried to put them in the muffin pan. So I came back to read more reviews that confirmed my batter was the right consistancy and that, hopefully, all would end well. AND IT DID!!! These were very good and rose up very wonderfully in the tins. I would make these again and again!!!!

Baked Halibut Steaks

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
The reviews in my home were mixed about this one. I loved it because it was so healthy, but my husband reminded me that he does not care for things wtih tomatoes....whatever. I loved it. I am in Florida so fresh halibut is hard to come by so I used hog fish and it was yummy!! I will make this again but try some different veggie combinations. Thanks for sharing this recipe!!!
