About this Cook
I'm 27 and married with a teen stepson and 2 little people (girl 2yrs and boy 3 months).
My favorite things to cook
Can't pin down a favourite. I love to experiment and try new things, so will always be learning, no matter how much experience I gain.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Grandma is Sri Lankan, so I've been brought up with limited experience of English food other than the traditional Sunday Roast. The whole family has a very eclectic taste.
My cooking triumphs
Baking my own bread has become habit (with or without the breadmaker!). I've even stopped buying bread!!
My cooking tragedies
I can't seem to get to grips with cottage pie or stews- my husband has to cook most of the traditional English stuff.

Best Lemonade Ever
I loved this recipe. It was easy, quick and tasted amazing. Works well with lemons, limes or a mixture of both. The only change I made was using fizzy water instead of still. Served it at a BBQ, and 4 peopleaske dfor the recipe!

Banoffee
Having spent many cofused hours wondering what graham crackers are (someone please tell me!), I ended up using crushed ginger nuts and added 2 tsp of cinnamon instead of the ginger. I also found that i didn't need to use the sugar as it was sweet enough without. Many thanks for a fantastic recipe.

Butternut Squash, Apple, Onion Au Gratin
Another huge hit with the family. I used shallots instead of the onion as that's all i had in at the time, but it still worked. A keeper for sure!
