Ham and Beans

My wife gave it a 4 as she likes ham and beans and she is the one who requested it. I gave it a 2 because I don't. To me, it was very bland and the texture was not pleasing. However, my wife thought it tasted mostly like ham and beans is supposed to.

Italian Sausage Soup

Maybe this is a 5 * as far as Italian Soups go but as just a soup, our entire family thought it was OK. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. Probably wil not make again.

Sangria! Sangria!

Followed recipe using fresh juices and did not include club soda. Allowed to "marinate" for 24 hours. Used cheap spanish red wine and cheap brandy. Slightly sweet and very fruity. Thanks!

Tuna Fish Special

Mozzarella Chicken

First let me say I only give a 5 star for those that are "Thank God for this food!" I have tried this recipe with both a dry white wine and a cooking sherry and my family prefers it with sherry. It would rank a 3.5 with white wine.

Victoria's Cucumber Salad

First let me say that I rarely give a 5 star as that is for "thank God for this food!". That said, the overall family rating was a 2 (Parents 3 & 3.5; kids 1,1). I liked it but others thought too liquidy, especially the next day. Recipe makes at least 10 servings. I too cut the pepper to 1 teaspoon and it was not peppery. Thanks!

Chicken Pot Pie V

First, let me say I rarely give a 5 star. That is for "Thank God for this Food!". That said, we rated this a three. But to be fair, I followed the repeated recommendations to double the broth & soup and it came out a little runny for us. Average flavor, not great but not bad. Also, it was flavorful, but a flavor that slightly detracted from it overall. I'll try some other Pot Pies to see how they compare. Thanks!

Maple Salmon

First let me say that I rarely give a 5 star as that is "Thank God for this food!" That said, the family gave this a 3.75 average. The spouse and the kids each gave a 4 while I gave a 3. I thought it needed a tad more flavor even though I used real maple, etc. Will keep as part of our rotation. Thanks!

First, let me say I rarely give a 5 star. That is for "Thank God for this Food!" That said, we rated this a 3 as everything was just average. Not bad, not great. If I make again, I would at least double the lemon as the lemon flavor was very mild. I did use broth instead of bouillon.

Roast Pork with Maple and Mustard Glaze

First, let me say I rarely give a 5 star as that is for "Thank God for this!" food. That said, I followed the recipe exactly except I followed someone's suggestion to cook at 180 for 3.5 hours due to timing issues. This didn't work on my oven at all. Had to bump to 350 eventually as at 3.5 hours, it was only 120 with a thermometer for the called for size. We will try again but follow the temp directions :) Thanks for the very easy recipe.

Barbie's Tuna Salad

First, let me say that I rarely give 5 stars as that is "Thank God for this!" food. That said, this is a 4+ star with the caveat that you MUST let it sit overnight in the fridge. I made a double batch and the first sandwiches were a 3.5-4 but the next day definately increased the flavor 1 full star. Based on the original recipe's portions, I decreased the mayo to 4 tablespoons to match my preference for creaminess and used paprika instead of curry (out of it). Next time I might add a little celery to give it a little crunch. Otherwise, this is a very good recipe. Thanks!
