Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2013
Fantastic recipe. Who cares that it's not traditional Shepherds pie. I like it. I did however make a few changes and additions. I followed the recipe but added two large cloves of garlic when I sauteed the onions. I used vegetable stock instead of beef. I added an extra 1/4 cup of water and sprinkled extra flour to thicken the gravy. a few splashes of Worcestershire sauce is a must. I did mash the carrots but they ended up being chunky ( tasted great ) and added some frozen peas to the veg layer. It was a family hit. I saved it

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2013
I dont know what I did wrong.. probably added too much flour as another reviewer has mentioned. BUT.. I LOVE THEM. I just made these cookies today and only used half the recipe. I followed it exactly as it states to and they turned out like the most deliciously buttery shortbread chocolate chip cookies. the second batch I flattened them out since they didnt change form once on the pan..and they still taste delicious. I'm positive that's not the way they are supposed to turn out but I cant wait for my husband to try them.

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2012
Delicious!! I made it exactly the way the recipe called for the first time and it turned out great. Tonight I made it with ground chicken instead. I also used two tablespoons of spaghetti sauce instead of tomato paste and a healthy dollop of franks red hot instead of hot pepper sauce. I omitted the worcestershire sauce because I'm not a fan, and didnt put the topping sauce.. and it was SOO fantastic. My picky hubby ate it (with a little ketchup) and even my 2 year old daughter gobbled it up. I recommend this for everyone! And to Drew.. Love it. I did make this in a loaf dish and cooked it at 375 for 40 minutes.. it cut beautifully

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2011
Absolutely delicious!! My husband AND toddler loves them... I just add some fresh onion, garlic and parsley to the mix and they turn out great. We've always used breadcrumbs before so I figured I'd give oatmeal a go and I'm so glad I did.

Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2011
delicious and super easy. I used 1 cup of cheddar, 1/2 cup of onions and 1/2 cup or red pepper. added a nice touch to the recipe. in order to get a good shredded chicken breast you need to boil it for a 1/2 an hour and add some onion powder, garlic powder and a little salt into the water

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
awesome.. I've tried at least 10 different recipes for banana bread but this one was mine and my husbands favourite. My picky 4 year old even ate it. I omitted the walnuts and put chocolate chips instead. Worked perfectly.

YUMMY! I made it the other day and didnt have a muffin tray so I made a loaf and cooked it for 45 min. It was perfect. Cooking time may vary but always test it with a toothpick to make sure it's ready.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2007
I though the recipe was great fresh from the oven..I used whole wheat flour instead the first time. The next day they were too sweet and kindof soggy. I made them again and did not use the crisp topping, added cinnamon to the mix, and added chocolate chips. They turned out even better..not as soggy on top.

Jenn's Out Of This World Spaghetti and Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2007
I just used the meatball recipe and it turned out perfectly..the only suggestion I have is maybe to add some onion and definetly some more spice! They were a little bland. I also baked them in the oven for 20 min @ 350 and then heated them in premade sauce to reduce the amount of grease.

Calamari

I added 1 tbs of garlic, 2 tsp of paprika and doubled the flour. Definetly a good idea to test out a little batch to check cooking time. Mine took a little under 2 minutes. With the changes I made I give mine a 5!
