About this Cook
I have learned a lot about southern homecooking from my gram and took it to another level with baking. She mainly made pies and cobblers and a special oatmeal cookie but I have taken it to another level with others things, such as pound cakes, muffins, rolls and such.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking cakes, pies, cookies, any sweets!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family cooking traditions is cooking big feasts for holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
I have created and mastered some excellent recipes for cheescake.
My cooking tragedies
My one cooking disaster that I can remember is the top falling off of the pepper into my first batch of turkey dressing for Thanksgiving. I scooped out as much as possible but it was extremely hot with pepper!

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie
This pie is definitely a "Gramdmas" pie. It is exactly (except for the meringue)the same as my Gram's recipe. If I had made this for her she would be proud. Of course, as a cook, I had to tweak and add some things, but all in all, an excellent pie. A tip for those that don't like meringue: add a teaspoon of vanilla extract, a little cinnamon or nutmeg, add some sugar gradually as you beat the egg whites and the merigue is as delicious as the pie. My husband said that he has never eaten meringue until I made it on my pie.
