Simple Hamburger Stroganoff

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2014
Easy and pretty tasty, but very thick and high in calories. I like to try a recipe as is first, and then customize. Next time I think I'll follow the other suggestions to cut the cream cheese, sour cream and soup and add garlic and onion and maybe red wine. But a good start!

My Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2014
Always miss my mom's chili but she doesn't have an exact recipe and I could never replicate it. This is the closest I've come and even my husband loved it. I did add cumin because it doesn't seem like chili to me without it, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. This one's a keeper!

Chicken In Basil Cream

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2014
Loved this! A new way for me to prepare chicken, and I served with some angel hair pasta. Prepared exactly as written. Hubby doesn't like cream sauces and he liked it too. Will become a regular in our house.

Sweet and Spicy Green Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2014
Love it! I don't like spicy but I had tried the spicy edamame at a sushi restaurant and couldn't get enough. So I made this recipe with edamame in place of the green beans and it was almost an exact match! Hubby even liked it and he shares my aversion to spicy foods. Will definitely make again.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2013
Followed other recommendations to cut the brown sugar and put the sauce on top. Also used the onion soup mix and put the bread slices in the bottom of the pan, which kept a nice even consistency. I'm not a big meatloaf person and I enjoyed it but still looking for that perfect recipe. Husband loved it.

Best Spinach Dip Ever

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2013
Couldn't find the leek soup mix locally so used the vegetable and it still turned out good. I skimped on the water chestnuts because I was unsure of them, but next time I won't because they were very good in the dip. Gave it 4 starts because there was just a certain "oomph" missing that makes spinach dip so addicting to me - but maybe it was the lack of leek? Still ate it up.

Black Bean and Corn Quesadillas

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2013
Made this according to the directions but without the red pepper flakes since we don't like heat. It was pretty good but lacking oomph (probably because of the lack of red pepper) so next time I think I'll try green onions and adding a little cilantro. Great base recipe that I'll return to, and I was skeptical about the brown sugar but liked it in the end.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2012
I really liked this recipe. We don't do spicy in my household so I left out the hot sauce, and used dry ginger and didn't miss it.
