Welsh Cakes

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2013
I can't say enough good things about these! They're perfect. We sprinkled them with baker's sugar and cinnamon while they were hot. Had them for breakfast with butter and jam.

Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2013
Fantastic! I had never made this type of cookie before and they came out perfect. I added 1 tsp vanilla and 1/2 tsp almond to mine just to intensify the flavor. They were amazing.

Jam Filled Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2013
Really good butter cookies AFTER I followed other reviews and added 1/4 tsp. salt and 2 tsp vanilla. Would also be good with a little lemon added. I dipped them in chocolate and sprinkled with ground walnuts instead of the jam.

Cauliflower With a Kick

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2012
Took this to Thanksgiving and my Grandma loved it. Everyone else ate it. I learned that I don't like parsnips.

Easy Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2012
This is a wonderful base ice cream. I've made it twice now, once adding almond extract, marzipan, and slivered almonds and once adding peanut butter. Both times it came out amazing! It's way easier than other ice cream recipes and comes out just as good.

Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce III

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2012
This has quickly become one of my staples for desserts. Everyone that tries it loves it. The sauce is to die for. Half the sauce recipe is plenty though...even enough to take home and eat drizzled over vanilla ice cream.

I didn't care for this one much, but my fiance loved it and ate all the leftovers.

Chicken Vindaloo

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
This was good, but I agree with the other reviewers. The spice combination was just a little off. I think I'd add less cloves, a touch more cinnamon, and some mustard powder next time. We DID finish the leftovers though so it was pretty good.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
FANTASTIC! I ended up putting mine in a grill pan rather than baking it. The sauce was fantastic. Nice and thick. Served with rice and broccoli.

Stir Fried Sesame Vegetables with Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
This was delicious! I used whatever veggies were on sale (cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots, etc.) and added rice noodles directly to the stir fry rather than serving it over rice. The sesame oil makes all the difference.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
This was good, but not the best chicken I've ever had. Was better the next day cut up and put on bread.

Asparagus Roll-Ups

This was fast and EASY. I combined the bacon, chives, and cream cheese in the food processor and used 2-3 thin spears of asparagus in each roll.

Fettuccine with Sweet Pepper-Cayenne Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
I can't say enough how fantastic this dish is. I have made it twice now and the second time I added asparagus and chicken to it. Make sure to take the sauce off the heat for a couple minutes before adding the parmesan cheese or you'll end up with a gooey mess.

Ashley's African Peanut Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
This was fantastic. Needed more salt than mine had but I used low sodium chicken broth. Once we added a tiny bit of salt it was fantastic. We usually don't finish our leftovers but this got finished!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2011
This was FANTASTIC!! I doubled the sauce and threw in a little garlic powder along with the celery seed. I also cooked the chicken and veggies in broth. Didn't have enough chicken broth so I ended up using about half chicken broth and half veggie. I made these into individual sized pies and it was enough filling for about 10-12. They were fantastic!!
