Mom's Turkey Sausage Patties

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2007
Fantastic! I needed some turkey sausage...and all I had was ground turkey. I threw this together and the results were awesome! I didn't have any cayenne so I used some crushed red pepper instead and it worked just fine. Wow!

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2007
This was fantastic!! I have been looking for a great grilled shrimp recipe for quite some time, but nothing is ever quite right - until I found this. It's simple and you couldn't ask for better esults. I was out of skewers, so I put the shrimp in one of those grilling basket things and it worked just fine. I'd recommend this to anyone! :)

I made this for dinner tonight- it was so good! They didn't have the burger crumbles at my grocery store, so I used chopped up Boca Burgers and it worked great. My meat loving husband and his friend had no idea.. :)

Cranberry-Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
These were really good and I love that they aren't overly sweet. I put a tiny bit of powedered sugar glaze on them just to offset the very tart cranberries I had. I will definitely make these again.

Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
I threw all the ingredients in my crockpot yesterday morning and when we came home from a cold day fishing I had the most fantastic split pea soup ever. I had to leave out the potato because I didn't have any. Great, simple recipe!

The Real Reuben

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2007
This was really yummy. I fed it to a bunch of sports watching men and they all wanted seconds. The recipe is almost perfect...something was off just a tiny bit and I can't put my finger on it. Perhaps it was the dressing I used.

Vegetarian Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2007
This is an excellent recipe. It's easy and quick to prepare and it made enough for our dinner tonight plus leftovers for the freezer! The only thing I changed was adding some black beans to make it a little more substantial for my husband. Love this recipe and I will definitely make it again.

Stuffed Green Peppers

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2007
These are the first meatless stuffed bell peppers I have ever made, and they were awesome. I definitely prefer them to the traditional recipe. The only change I made was using brown rice instead of white (it's all I had on hand). Yummy!

Chocolate Covered Orange Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
I made these yesterday afternoon and I'm glad I didn't rate them at that time, or I would have only given 4 stars. These are much better after they sit for a day. The flavor mellows and they aren't so sweet. I froze them, as a test, and they freeze very nicely. Per other's suggestions I added some shortening to the chocolate coating and they were simple to coat. I just put them in the choclate, lifted out with a spoon and used my fingers to transfer them to waxed paper to dry. The chocolate kind of melded in and covered my fingerprints. I also substituted pecans for walnuts. Very yummy and I'll be giving some as gifts.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
This is excellent dip! And just like it says - addictive! I mixed it up and put it in a mini crockpot on low. It worked out really well and everyone loved it! update: I've made this dip about 20 times now, because every time I get invited somewhere it's requested. Now I just take along copies of the recipe because I know everyone will ask for it. I've heated in the crockpot, baked it in the oven, microwaved it, and even heated in on the stove top and it turns out equally yummy every time. I do mix the parmesan in when i bake it, rather than leave it on top though - I like it a little better that way.

Different and good! Will go into rotation for company food! It's a great recipe when you have people over because it's almost all done in advance. You just have to grill and serve!

Basic Quiche by Shelly

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
Awesome recipe! I have never made quiche before and I'm very pleased that this is the first recipe I tried. I pre-baked the crust for about 8 minutes, as suggested by someone, and I also cut the 1/2 & 1/2 down to 1.5 cups and added an extra egg, since I like a less-custardy consistancy. For add-ins I used some shredded swiss, crumbled bacon, 1/2 package frozen spinach (thawed and squeezed VERY dry, and a small amount of carmelized onions. Amazing!!
