Originally from NY, have lived in Maine, Carolina, different parts of Texas, Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta and now in Tlaxcala, the smallest state in Mexico. Love to cook and learning from other good cooks. I also like good family food as well as the challenge of making something elegant for special occasions. My major pet peeve is too much cumin in The Mexican Food recipes on this site.

Any kind of Shrimp, Stuffed Pork Loin, Filet Mignon, Scallops, Cheesecakes, Fruit Mousse Pies, Mexican Leg of Pork (pierna), and experimenting with chicken breasts.

My cooking triumphs
Coquilles Saint Jacques got me a job teaching cooking. Was voted best beans at a Mexico City potluck dinner. Vanilla ice cream in almond meringue cups. Medallions in a chipotle-bleu cheese sauce.
My cooking tragedies
Made a "perfect" 14 inch family recipe cheesecake and discovered that I'd forgotten to add the sugar when the dessert was served!
