Spinach Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2007
I made this for my boyfriend and he told me he hadn't had soup like that since his grandmother from Italy cooked for him when he was a young boy! It was so good!

Chicken Lo Mein

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2007
Was great... the only thing I would change is the ratio of pasta to vegges and chivken. I think the recipe doesn't call for enough. I also had to use a touch more oil to keep from burning the vegetables. otherwise, with a touch of soy sauce on top of the finished meal, it was fantastic. The marinade on the chicken was truly authentic and the sesame oil totally made the dish. i loved it and so did my family!

Peanut Butter Cake II

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2007
Was a great recipe. I added a ring of peanuts on the top and made sections with them and then put a few different types of jellie in the sections. I had to add more butter and cream to the frosting to make it the right consistency (too dry), but overall it turned out great. Really tasty, and I loved it even better the second day after it had been in the refrigerator!

Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
Great stuff, only thing I wouls do different is to use something else for the topping, like potato chips or something saltier.

PHILADELPHIA New York-Style Strawberry Swirl Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2009
This cheesecake was fantastic! One thing I would change though next time is that I would heat up the jam before I tried putting it into the cheesecake. Swirling globs of jam didn't work so well so instead of a marble affect, there were just random patches of strawberry inside. This cake turned out HUGE and was just as big of a hit with everyone!

I have been looking for a good candied yam recipe for so long. I will look no farther. Just like my grandmother used to make!

This recipe was awsome. It was a nice new twist on an old favorite. My boyfriend, who is a meatloaf addict, loved it!

Strawberry Avocado Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2009
Excellent recipe.. it was so refreshing and different. I served it to a bunch of conservative eaters and it was a huge hit. They had been skeptical but praised me when the meal was over!

Angel's Yummy Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2009
great recipe! The only thing I changed is that I added extra garlic (I like a lot of zip) and added a little bit of olive oil to the bread before spooning the mixture on. Otherwise... Awsome!

Apple Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
This was a great recipe, but I made a few changes and liked it better. I added buttermilk to the potatoes and apples to get the right consistancy and add a creamy flavor. I also topped the potatoes with grated apple smoked cheddar. It was great!

Sausage Mushroom Quiche

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
A huge hit with my guests, made it for the first time and it came out great! I doubled the amount of sausage it called for, and found it a good thing I did. I also drained the mushrooms after I cooked them in the butter because there was a lot a liquid. In the future, I will make a little bit more of the cream mixture than I did this time, but otherwise, it was amazing! Cooked it until the parmesan was golden brown on the top!

Corn Chowder II

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
Made this in the slow cooker instead, but kept fairly close to the recipe. Only differences were I skipped the veggies, and shredded potatoes into the soup instead. I used heavy cream and a little bit of milk until the liquid came just slightly above the level of the corn. I cooked it in the slow cooker for about 4 hours on high, and added the cheese right before I served it. Best chowder I ever had!
