The Best Sweet and Sour Meatballs

I'm so glad that I found this recipe. I was looking for a recipe for Sweet & Sour meatballs that was made without ketchup or chili sauce. I substituted some of the water for pineapple juice and it was delicious.

Almond Shortbread I

Outstanding! This recipe is simple and classic. Instead of struggling with a wooden spoon, I just used my electric mixer to do it all. First I beat up the cold butter, sugar and extract, then added the sifted flour and put the mixture on "stir." Those who said it was crumbly didn't stir it long enough. I took other reviewers' advice and used only 2 cups of flour. Also, I rolled it into a 2.5 inch log, chilled, then sliced the cookies 1/2" thick. They baked in my convection oven for 20 mins and were perfect! Soft and delish. Enjoy!

Strawberry Angel Food Dessert

Love this! Because mine was for a July 4th event, I madei it more festive by reserving a bit of the filling and piping it onto the top, then topped each "star" with a blueberry. Also, I made my own glaze (I had extra strawberries) following the previous poster's recipe suggestion. They didn't mention this, but I drained the strawberries out of the glaze, and I think it should have cooked more than the recommended 5 minutes, as it's a little runny.

The topping was way too sweet for me. I enjoyed it, but if I were to make it again, I'd decrease the brown sugar by half.

Mom's Buttermilk Pancakes

Very good, but too salty. I hesitated when I added the whole teaspoon of salt, but decided to follow the recipe exactly. I was right--way too much salt. Great recipe, though, and I'll definitely use it again with half the salt--or less. It was a good way to use up the extra buttermilk from my red velvet cake. My kids didn't love them because they're used to Bisquick, I guess. LOL
