Raisin Lemon Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2007
I used about 1/4 cup lemon juice only and baked this in 2 batches. I thought it wasn't quite sweet enough so I made a little lemonly glaze out of powdered sugar, lemon juice & water and drizzled it over the cooled cookies just for an extra lemon touch. I brought these to work and my co-workers enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing a great recipe!

Harvest Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2007
This soup was just wonderful! I used fresh pumpkin and omit the cream. I just wanted to have a more natural taste of the pumpkin. Also I added a few chunks of my pumpkin to the soup just to give more of a pumpkin taste. Pumpkin is light and has a taste somewhat similar to a potato. I will definately make this again.

Sesame Oil Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
better than Hooters Marinaded the wings in the sauce for 2 hours(longer the better) then baked for 40 minutes at 400F. Then with the leftover marinade boiled down to a thick syrup and poured on top of the wings.

Roasted Rack of Lamb

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2008
The recipe was good. As many other reviewers had suggested, I only used a quarter of the salt in the recipe and also agreed with another reviewer that 1/2 cup of bread crumbs is a little much. I also felt that the garlic did not really add any flavor. I would either add more garlic or leave it out (it ended up burnt when taken out of the oven). I made this rack of lamb medium and cooked it in the oven at 450* for 5 mins and then turned the heat down to 300* and baked it until the desired temperature (about 9 more mins.) so that the outside would not be overcooked by the time the inside is at the desired temp. that I wanted (which came out to 132*).

Halloween Popcorn Pumpkins

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
Excellent and a great way to use up candy corn. I couldn't stop eating these! Made these last night and added in roasted peanuts and m&m's. I only used 1/4 cup of butter instead as well. And decided to insert pretzel sticks instead and wraped these nicely in little baggies.

Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
This was one of the best and easiest Banana nut bread recipe I've ever made! I found this recipe only 5 days ago and have made it 4 times already because this is just so amazingly good! I used a yellow cake box mix and chopped pecans and added vanilla extract to 3 of the 4 loaves that I made and feel that the vanilla extract really helps the recipe have an added sweetness. But if you omit this, then the recipe will be a little less sweet and more bread like than cake- bread like. Love this recipe and will try this recipe again but with another cake mix flavor.

Wonderful Banana Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
I used a lemon supreme cake mix and also used 3 bananas. This took about 35 mins to make a bundt cake and only about 25- 28 mins. to make muffins. I like the cake and muffins the way they are plain, but may try a cream cheese frosting.

Easy Apple Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
This cake was very moist! Loved the flavor! I only used 2 granny smith apples and baked it for only 40 mins. I omitted the walnuts (because I did not have any) and used a lemon cake mix instead. I also used a vanilla and chocolate chip instant pudding mix (since that was all I had left). I would love to make this again with a different pudding mix and see how that would taste.

Egg and Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
Quick and very simple, just wonderful! This is a quick go- to breakfast idea. Made it this morning and used turkey instead of pork. Also used Italian seasoning instead and also added grape tomatoes, garlic & onions, for some vegetables and added flavor.

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
Excellent and easy recipe. This is my first time making monkey bread. The flavor was very good. The only thing I would have preferred was probably to use a little less butter. I used 3 biscuit dough cans and also cut each biscuit in quarters. The presentation of this dish is very appealing. Great for finger food parties!

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
Amazingly good! My boyfriend made this for me and it came out so flavorful. It is simple to make. He ended up using regular mustard because he didn't know we had dijion mustard. This will definitely be a recipe we will make again!

Thai Red Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
My boyfriend really enjoyed eating this dish. I added 1 tsp of curry paste and also added sugar, a few dashes of fish sauce and cayenne pepper to the recipe. I used carrots, onions and green beans. I combined the curry paste with the corn starch and some of the coconut milk as another reviewer had suggested. I also sweated some minced garlic prior to cooking the chicken. Would make this recipe again.

Potato Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
This was a really nice Cheesey potato soup recipe! Easy to make and loved that you can also add to the recipe. Well I added onion powder and whole garlic cloves to the soup (just added the garlic cloves to the potatoes while boiling) and omitted the cornstarch and milk step as other people have suggested since the soup already becomes think due to all the starch in the potatoes. Also this makes great mashed potatoes the next day if you don't want to thin it out as soup. Also to make this more of a meal, I added some chunks of cooked turkey. I also ended up using shredded cheese because I did not have any blocked cheese. The cheese I used wasn't very salty tasting so I did end up adding a little bit of salt to the recipe, but only after I tasted it when everything was put together. This was gone in 2 days, thanks for sharing a delicious recipe!

Arizona Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
I used 5 pieces of boneless skineless chicken breast and cut up the pieces and cooked it that way to speed up the cooking. I also added in 3 cloves of garlic (in my house, every loves garlic) instead of adding the garlic powder. I did add in onion powder because I had no onions on hand. I also omitted the olives as we had none available. To the tomato sauce, I added a little splenda to help sweeten it up a little. I also added my rice right to the pan to help let the rice soak in all of the tomato sauce. Easy recipe and very much of what a homemade hearty meal should be.

Excellent easy recipe! Make 4 potatoes tonight and decided to mash them up instead and make mashed potatoes. I also added ground tumeric and curry powder for a twist on an old classic.

Garlic Creamed Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2010
I agree with all the other reviewers that the sauce is good. I actually ended up using a can of cream of celery because I didn't have can of mushroom. I also used garlic powder because I ran out of fresh garlic. I ended up baking this chicken dish for 1 hour uncovered. Then backed another 30 mins covered because the chicken was not fully cooked. Next time I will definately brown the chicken before baking it. I will also try adding vegetables to the sauce next time. I served this over rice and over pasta. This will definately be made again in the future!

Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2010
These were actually fairly easy to make. My dog, Cocker Spaniel named Munster, enjoyed these. These treats came out semi- crumbly though. I made 2 batches, one with wheat germ and the other with ground flax seed and crumbled up shredded wheat. It was hard to tell which one my dog really liked (he loved food period!) I also used 1/2 cup of peanut butter as other reviewers suggested. And I also cut these dog treats into bones.

Lentil Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
Excellent chili! I made this with ground chicken, because thats what I had in the freezer. I used 3 cups of lentils instead and I added a bag of frozen broccoli. Everything else was followed the same. I served this with some nice crusty bread and some brown rice for the rest of the family. I bet this will make delicious leftovers for tomorrow!

Korean BBQ Beef (Pul-Kogi)

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2010
Excellent and yet very simple and versitile! I use rice wine vinegar as well and omit the sesame seeds because I never buy them and have them in the house. I also omit the green onions sometimes when I am out of them and this recipe still comes out wonderful! My family love the sauce. You will not be disappointed with this recipe!

Nacho Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
Love it! Just made it for the family and everyone is chowing it down! I added garlic powder and also dry mustard for added flavor. I also used shredded cheese instead so that the cheese could melt quicker. I also tried adding in some mozzarella cheese because I had some in the fridge. I also added a little more milk to have a thinner consistency. This is an easy and delicious cheese sauce and I will definitely make this again!
