Quick Chicken And Wine

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2012
I made this last night and was absolutely pleased! I followed the recipe but dipped chicken in flour after the egg as other reviewers recommended. I didn't see a difference with keeping the breading on. So next time may not bother with the flour. I wished I had more sauce though for my rice. Next time I will have to make more!

Shredded Beef

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of the honey, and tripled the recipe for my family size. I was not exactly thrilled with this recipe. I used an English Chuck Roast instead of the Rump Roast, but I don't think that was the problem. The seasonings didn't "pop out" like I thought they would. It was a little bland. Good thing I added more Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. I was also confused with whether to keep the water in the slow cooker and then add my seasonings? So, I used half of the water. Maybe the water wasn't supposed to be in there. I don't think I found this to be a hit in our household. But, it fed us.

Macaroni and Cheese V

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2009
This was a fast and easy way to make home made mac and cheese. I was not especially fond that it didn't have a great flavor. I even used a sharp cheddar cheese. It tasted kind of bland. The consistency was great while in the saucepan...nice and creamy, but once I put it in the oven it broke down and got really gritty tasting. I think next time I will maybe add more of the dry mustard and not bake it. Otherwise, I thought it was quick and easy! I will attempt this dish again with a few changes.

Beefy Barbecue Macaroni

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
I thought this recipe was a little different from your traditional goulosh and wanted to give it a shot. I think it was good, but I think I would opt to switch out my BBQ sauce I used for something with more of a kick. I used sweet baby rays original. I think I would like to use a spicy/tangy version next time. I would also use a little more cyanne pepper and another clove of garlic. I did do the cheese, milk, and butter melted in the pot and then added my noodle and beef mixture. I then sprinkled the cheese on top and put in the over 450 for 5-10 min til melted. I think the milk, cheese mixture helped my sauce from being as sweet as it could have been. I will try this recipe again with a different sauce though.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
I could hardly believe someone posted a grilled cheese sandwich on here...but I started thinking about my 18 & 20 yr old sons and how they rely on their mom to always through a grilled cheese sandwich on the skillet for them....well, this was such a great idea and so it inspired me to print this recipe out and tape it in the inside of our cupboard door for them to memorize. They can't rely on "mom" to cook everything! Also, I occassionally add some thin sliced ham to make it a little heartier for them. Thanks for posting simple recipes. They will also get this link to help them in the future....

Sweet Polish Sausage

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
This sauce was yummy! But, I used precooked polish sausage and the sausage tended to get dried out. Next time I will not cook for the amount of time suggested. Or if there is uncooked polish sausage out there, I will try that. The sauce was soo....good though. I served it over rice. I will take that sauce recipe with me to other recipes. It was certainly good!

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
This recipe was awesome! I have two teenage sons. One loves sloppy joes and one is not real fond of them. They both loved them and so did I! In the past I always used a sloppy joe packet from McCormick and a can of tomato paste and really like that....but this takes it's place from now on! The only change I made other than doubling the recipe was I took the advice of other reviewers and added a splash of vinegar, 1/2 tsp of minced garlic, 1 tsp chili powder. I will definitely share this recipe and use regularly!!!

Red Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
I really loved this sauce! I had been looking for a good enchilada sauce in the store and could never find a good one. It was always bitter. I followed this recipe execept I did use tomato paste instead of sauce and I did add a little sugar and added a little extra chili powder. My family loved their beef enchilada's alot more with this recipe. I will use it again!!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2008
This bread was absolutely delicious! So moist. I had a recipe years ago that was just like this and lost it. I couldn't find a recipe again like it until this one. No alterations need to be made to this recipe, however, I did add an extra 1/2 cup of zucchini to use it up and it was still really good.

Meatloaf Supreme

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
This recipe was either a joke or someone truly did not double check before submitting. No option for "0" stars or I would have checked it.
