Holiday Chicken Salad

Wow, excellent. The only thing I did different was to add red grapes as well as the cranberries and I toasted the nuts. I have never been a big fan of chicken salad...that is until now.

Imitation Crab Salad

This salad is delicious. Made exactly as directed and it was perfect, I would not change a thing. I think the sour dough bread adds a nice texture and flavor to this salad so I would not leave it out. Going in the keeper box. Thanks for posting.

Sweet and Sour Pork III

In a word, Fantastic. I loved it. Thanks for sharring. Made it almost as directed, except added 2 hot peppers and some pea pods. Just added a subtle heat to the dish, so don't be afraid to try adding them. The sauce is perfect and I can't wait to make it again.

Grandma's Iron Skillet Apple Pie

Very, very good. Made exactly as directed and hubby said, "this is the best pie you have ever made" I agree. Do however spray your skillet with cooking spray or you will not get the pie out.

Quick Savory Cranberry Glazed Pork Loin Roast

I too would serve this to the president. Made as directed for the sauce. I did coat the meat with cornstarch, salt and pepper and brown before putting into the oven. This will help the glaze stick to the meat instead of falling off. Cook only to internal temp. of 140 and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving. Temp. will rise while resting. If you cook to 160 you will dry out the meat and it will be overcooked.

Zucchini Brownies

Made it exactly as directed and they are really, really good. Hubby who dislikes carrot cake or anything green for that matter had no idea zucchini was in here and he loved them. They are very moist, dark chocolate, fudge like brownies. I could not see any of the zucchini in the brownies after they were baked. I grated my zucchini first before doing anything else and by the time I added it, it made a thick but moist batter. I will make these again. Frosting is equally good.

Egg Salad Sandwiches

Absolutely the best egg salad I have ever had. Tons of flavor. The only thing I did different was to add chives instead of the onion and that is mostly because I love onion, but it doesn't love me!! Really good, try it.

Autumn Spice Ham Steak

This is easy to make, looks beautiful and tastes delicious. What more could you ask for. I used real maple syrup and I peeled the apples because no one in my family likes the peel. I thought this might be really sweet, but it was perfect, I will make this again and again. Thanks for a really good meal.

Baked Ziti IV

This is really good. I made the recipe as directed except I used hot italian sausage because I like the spice. This makes a lot so I prepared one 8 x 8 pan to eat and the other to freeze for another day. Also, I layered it differently, I started with the meat sauce, then 1/2 of the noodles, then I mixed the sour cream and the cottage cheese together and put all of that on top of the noodles, then cheese, then more meat sauce, noodles and top with cheese. This is comfort food at it's best and worth the extra hour in the gym to wear it off.

Classy Chicken

How good was this....very!! I followed the recipe pretty close but used broccoli instead of the zucchini and I used sun dried tomatoes in oil (which was actually a bread dip condiment) Sometimes you just have to make do with what you have. I was a little worried about the mustard and the dill but go for it, it's fantastic. I could have eaten the gravy with a spoon it was so good. It looks beautiful on the platter, served it with mashed potatoes and cranberries. I try lots of recipes and now only keep the ones that rate 5 stars...

Grilled Salmon II

This is very good. I made this as directed but only marrinated it for a couple hours because I couldn't wait any longer. This will be awesome when my patience if better. I would however double the marrinade, then after the fish is done marrinating, I would thicken this on the stove and serve it drizzled over the fish after cooking. I really believe that people who don't like salmon over cook it. Mine turned out moist and oh so good. Thanks for a fantastic meal.

Apple-Stuffed Acorn Squash

Made it exactly as directed with only the addition of salt and pepper. In a word delicious. I love it, hubby loved it and our house guesst said "this is really good". I too was a little afraid of the cheese in this but that in my opinion put it over the top. Next time, and there will be a next time, I would cube the squash and serve it all in a bowl because a whole 1/2 of squash stuffed was alot and hard to eat with the peel on and trust me you want to gobble it up.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

This is really, really good. I made this after work one night and it was fast and easy and oh so good. The only thing I did different was to use half/half Instead of the heavy cream and I topped it with fresh chives from my garden. I Served it with rice, steamed broccoli and cranberries for an amazing beautiful meal. The sauce is very good and next time I might add some mushrooms to it. Oh, yes there will be many more times for this one. Thank you for this one.

Pasta Primavera with Italian Turkey Sausage

This was really good. It has a light fresh taste and is so pretty to serve. The only change I made was to use regular hot italian sausage instead of the turkey (mostly because I couldn't find any turkey sausage). I made this for my guy, who never eats vegetables and he had three plates full!!!! Note, this makes a lot so cut in half or you get to eat it for days...which isn't bad either, because the flavor gets better and better. Thanks for this one, it's a keeper.

Rhubarb Stir Cake

This was yummy. The only thing I did different was to use 1/2 sour cream and 1/2 yogurt (that is what I had). I also mixed the sugar with cinnamon and nutmeg and about 2 T. of butter then sprinkled it over the top. I also waited a day to eat it. It was moist and very, very good served with real whip cream. This made the favorite box.

Green Grape Salad

Very good. I too used both green and red grapes for eye appeal. Something different to serve up and everyone loved it. I made extra sugar/nuts and then sprinkled the extra over the top for more eye appeal.

Salisbury Steak Deluxe

Very good. I substituted Golden Mushroom soup as that is what I had. Husband loved it and so did I. I hate horseradish but put it in anyway I think it adds to the flavor of the sauce. Go for it.

Rhubarb Custard Pie II

I could have entered a contest with this pie and Won! Followed the recipe exactly except for adding a little cinnamon to the custard part. Topped it with a lattace crust and some raw sugar and it came out of the oven looking beautiful. Hubby had two pieces and now he likes Rhubarb.
