Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2013
Great recipe. As one commenter said, the cream wasn't necessary. I used one bag of chocolate chips, heat over a double boiler, and was able to dip 2 bags of pretzels. Then topped them with sprinkles. They were a hit this Christmas!

Unfortunately I didn't have the mushrooms or slivered almonds, but otherwise I followed the recipe completely and loved it! Great recipe. Definitely a keeper!

Potato Leek Soup II

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
Loved this recipe. Will be keeping it! Super simple, and super easy to expand upon depending on your own nutritional needs. Sorry, I didn't follow the recipe exactly, but was still pleased with the end result. No potato flakes, but instead real potatoes thinly sliced. I also used no milk. So at the end, when all the potatoes and other ingredients were tender, I used my hand blender to puree them. Turned out smooth and creamy, without needing any milk. Garnished it with shredded cheddar cheese although I think low fat sour cream would also be a lovely addition.

This recipe was very simple. I used garlic powder, Parmesan, and Italian seasoning as many people suggested, and they turned out delicious. I will be using this one again and again!

Tim Perry's Soup (Creamy Curry Cauliflower and Broccoli Soup)

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2008
I thought this recipe was excellent. My entire family enjoyed it. Like everyone else, I made a few changes to it though. I initially sauteed the vegetables in oil to soften them. Once tender, I added my "broth." I added a total of 8 cups of "broth" - well, water, and added two chicken and one vegetable bouillon cubes. That made this soup go a lot further, and still retained the taste. I used two bunches of broccoli, and half a head of cauliflower. I also shredded in two carrots, and added 4 cloves of garlic, minced. I then used a hand blender in the pot to smooth out the soup. Next time I may leave some chunks to add a little more texture. Overall, I was very pleased with this soup, and will definitely make it again.

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2007
This soup was fairly easy to make. I found it took quite a while for the lentils to soften up, and the soup never really got as thick as the picture. Pretty yummy. I forgot the vinegar, so maybe next time that will add a little more flavor to it. I will make this one again.

Chunky Tomato Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2007
This was a pretty good soup. Easy to make. I brought the milk to a near boil very slowly, but it still broke. Once the rest of the ingredients were added you couldn't really tell. I had to use about 3 Tbsp. cornstarch to thicken the soup. Also I only used about 1 tbsp. butter initially. Will make again, but not a 5 star recipe for me.

Beaker's Vegetable Barley Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2007
This soup was easy to make, and definitely yummy. Very thick, almost like a stew, so use more broth if you don't like thick. I used chicken broth and it still tasted fine. Didn't use the Worcestershire, but I'm not really a fan to start with. Overall a great, easy soup. Will make it again and again.
