Wonderful Waffles

VERY good, and quite easy to make. They were wonderful with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. I was planning on freezing some, but there were none left!

Pizza Crust I

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
A good, basic dough. I added some Italian seasonings to the mix. I rolled mine out onto a large airbake pan that had been dusted with cornmeal, used a fork to pierce the dough and baked for 10 minutes before topping. It probably would have turned out a bit better on a different kind of pan, but overall my family was happy!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
Followed the recipe as written using red velvet cake mix and cream cheese frosting. A bit time consuming overall, but I expected that. I coated mine with chocolate almond bark, finding that I had the best luck using a regular old spoon, rolling them around, and placing them on waxed paper. My girls really liked them, but they like anything sweet! I found them OK, but not something that will be a staple recipe for me.

If you like rich things, this is one for you! I made these to share at work for my birthday, and received lots of compliments and requests for the recipe. A great candy-type bar!

Zucchini Cobbler

Very easy to prepare and quite good! Did not fool my husband, as he figured it was something "different," but considering he is so picky, he likes it too!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
I have made this many times and have always gotten many compliments. I have used various fruits with not problems at all with browning, and never add the sugar. I also use sugar free preserves. Some have mentioned draining the salsa, but I do not feel the need to do so. If you run out of chips, the leftovers are great as a side salad/snack too.

Oma's Rhubarb Cake

Reviewed: May 30, 2009
A good cake. Not as flavorful as I expected, thus 4 stars, but my hubby gives it 5. He loved it! The sour cream really keeps it moist. I may try to spice it up a bit more next time.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
Good and easy to make. I used frozen pie crust, which worked great. I used some frozen, cubed hash browns boiled with the veggie rather than fresh potato, and that worked very well. I also shredded a rotissarie chicken. I thought the gravy was a little bland, but I did not have celery seed, so that might have been it. Will make again!

Peppermint Brittle

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
Used vanilla almond bark instead (cheaper and easier to find) and it worked out great. Melted very easily in the microwave with no problems. I put the candy canes in a freezer bag and crushed them with a meat tenderizer...did not feel that anyone would break a tooth as mentioned before! As suggested, I sifted the smaller parts out and added that to the bark. Easy for my girls to help with, and broke apart well for gift giving. I will be keeping this recipe for the future!

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
I thought this was OK, especially since we are not real pancake eating people. I made as directed, but used 1 cup wheat flour as read in other comments, and added some extra pumpkin pie spice to taste. My girls said they liked it, but did not gobble it up. Nice for a change of pace.

Scrambled Eggs Done Right

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2008
This was good, but nothing extraordinary. My kids did not know the difference from my usual scrambled eggs. I did use milk rather than water, and added some cheese at the end like I usually do.

Oatmeal Molasses Bread

Not as good as my grandpa's version, but the bread machine certainly is much easier than doing it all by hand! Took me back in time as I ate it with butter and honey.
