Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2007
I used this recipe for my boyfriend's birthday last week and it went over fantastic! I actually forgot to put the chocolate chips in, but they wound up being un-needed. Also made it in a traditional round springform instead of bundt. The cake was dense, chocolately, and very very moist, something everyone commented on. Friends of ours who are engaged even said the cake was better than those they had sampled for their upcoming wedding! Will definitely be making this again.

Rosemary Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2007
The only thing I changed about this recipe was the prep before it went into the oven. I hand rolled small balls of dough (about 1 T each) and slightly flattened them into 1/4 inch thick discs on the baking sheets, then popped them in the fridge for about 30 minutes. With a butter-heavy dough like this, I knew that the dough would have to be very chilled and firm before being cooked so they would maintain their shape and not flatten out - good shortbread is thick and flaky! Everyone LOVED these cookies and I will be making them again.

Mom's Favorite Baked Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
This was so simple to make! I only made a couple changes - I substituted the salt with garlic salt for an extra subtle kick and then added a breadcrumb topping with a little melted butter and chopped parsley. Delicious!

Michelle's Famous Washed Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
I had to make this recipe twice because using the original proportions it was too watery (we like a chunky cranberry sauce). The second time around I reduced the water by 1/2 cup and added a few extra tablespoons of sugar and then it turned out perfect! Just remember if you want that chunky texture to stir the cranberries as little as possible while cooking so they don't break down.
