About this Cook
I am married to a great guy, Thomas, and we have a beautiful little girl. I am already getting her comfortable with the kitchen at the early age of one. :-] I feel like everyone should know how to cook. It's healthier, cheaper, and it gives a sense of satisfaction.
My favorite things to cook
Most everything.
My cooking triumphs
I make delicious cookies. I pride myself on making new cookie recipes, but chocolate chip is still the most requested by my friends and family.
My cooking tragedies
I am always very eager to get my baked goods out of the oven. I'm upset with myself if a cookie, brownie, or cake is a little dry because I left it in the oven for a couple extra minutes. I blame this in the fact that my pumpkin pie never seems to set up correctly. Next time I promise myself to not take it out before its truly done.

Fruit Dip II
It is so delicious. I am sitting here wondering how in the world orange juice and cool whip could improve it at all. And, it's so easy!

Slow Cooker Carolina BBQ
Without the liquid smoke...4 stars. With liquid smoke...5 stars all the way. I made 2 batches with the first following the recipe exactly and the second adding the liquid smoke. Only one Tbsp is needed. It is a delightful recipe. We live in VA...and my husband grew up in NC. This is dead on bbq. I will never use a different bbq recipe again. And, fyi, I didn't mind the smell in the house...and I have the most sensitive of noses. Perhaps it is because I enjoy the vinegar bbq so much? Yum!

Marshmallow Fondant
I made this as written the first time...ans it turned out great...though it ruined my hand mixer. (it smoked the little motor right up) My husband then bought me a KitchenAid...and it did the job. However, the second time around, I used marshmallow fluff. The results were nowhere near as nice. It was way stickier...and I needed a lot more sugar...and the taste wasn't as nice as a result. I will stick to the heating of mini-marshmallows from now on. (btw, I was making fondant flowers for a friend's wedding cupcakes with this recipe.)
