Green Bean Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2007
I loved this one! definitely a recipe to keep. My family eats so many green beans, they tend to get quite boring, but these I could probably eat forever. thanks!

Molten Chocolate Cakes With Sugar-Coated Raspberries

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2010
I think I may have overcooked these a little bit, they were a little too set to be molten lava :( however, the middle was still soft and moist, and the flavor was wonderful. A bite of chocolate with a bite of sugary raspberries.....SUPERB! I will definitely try this again and shave a minute off the cooking time to see if i cant get it exactly right :)

Salsa

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2010
Thought this turned out excellently! i added a tiny sprinkle of cumin in as well, and seemed to give the salsa an extra little kick. im letting it sit in the refrigerator a bit before serving, hopefully the flavors will meld and it will get even better! thanks for the recipe!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
I thought this turned out great. It wasnt labor intensive but did use a lot of dishes. I used panko breadcrumbs and they are, as always, fabulous! I do agree that the sauce could use a little something else to make it less "cream of mushroom-y", i added a bit of chili powder and garlic powder to mine but might experiment some. overall, it was a wonderful dish, not at all as tough and chewy as pork chops were when my mom used to make them---will make again and again!

Banana Cupcakes

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
these were SUPERB. light and fluffy, sweet, with a bit of banana flavor. my usually overly-critical mother said these were the best thing I've ever made. Will DEFINITELY make again. I should also add that I used regular milk instead of buttermilk, but didn't make any noticeable difference to me. they were still excellent even with that substitution!

Rosemary Chicken with Orange-Maple Glaze

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2011
I thought this recipe was great. Its easy to put together, uses ingredients everyone has on hand, and doesn't take much time from start to finish. the chicken has a pleasant (but not overpowering like i was afraid it would be) orange and maple flavor. however, you DO have to keep a close eye on it, I accidentally burned the sauce while attending to other dishes. I assume it was probably because of the sugar in the juice and the syrup, which sometimes has a propensity to burn quickly...although since other reviewers don't seem to have had this problem, maybe it was just me with my stove turned up to high!! The chicken itself wasn't damaged, but it was unfortunately coated in a thick black slime that just wasn't appealing. I learned my lesson for next time though, and will be more careful! I look forward to an opportunity to try this recipe again, and I'm sure it will come out fabulous!

Squash Casserole I

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2007
Turned out very good. I only used 3 squash, but I kind of wish I had added in another, perhaps one more small one. And I didnt have enough sour cream so I added some plain yogurt with it to make up the difference and that didnt hurt any. I also mixed a few handfuls of breadcrumbs into the mixture and only poured half the squash water into it-for those of you who complained your casseroles were watery, that might help! mine wasn't runny at all. bread crumbs inside will help sop up the extra moisture :-)

Zucchini Bread VI

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2007
mine turned out rather heavy, I think because I substituted applesauce for the oil. next time I may do half and half and see if that makes a difference. I also used real lemon zest instead of extract, and I have to say it was quite lemony, but luckily not too overpowering. Has a good flavor, i am pleased :-) thanks for a great recipe! edit: 24 hours later, my entire loaf has been completely eaten up by my family! They all complimented it, and I will be making a few more loaves tonight :-)

Summer Squash Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2007
this was a good recipe for using up all that extra squash from your garden! I thought it was good, but it was way too sweet. If you make this, definitely follow the advice of others and cut down on the sugar.

Easy Ground Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2007
I actually think this "stroganoff" had a pretty nice flavor, but it just wasn't what I expected. It reminded me more of a meat sauce to put over spaghetti in appearance. I suppose it would have been better with about half as much tomato, in my opinion. I gave it two stars for flavor, but subtracted three, because had I not told anyone what it was supposed to be, no one would have ever guessed it was stroganoff and not just another pasta sauce.

Tofu Keema

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2007
I really didn't like this...maybe I made it wrong I don't know. at first. I'm not really used to indian food, though-I tried to dilute the flavor a little with chicken broth, and then I thought it was too bland. Oh well. whatever went wrong was probably my fault. Thanks anyway for the recipe.
