Snickerdoodle Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2012
LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE!!!!! I made a couple of minor changes, I used margarine instead of shortning (because I can't find shortning here in Spain) and I added 1 tsp each of vanilla and cinnamon to the batter as other reviewers suggested. Will make this again and again and again. . . .

Baked Bar-be-Que Chicken

Excellent recipe!! Easy and very good. Whoever said to line the pan with foil is a GENIUS! Cleanup was a snap. Will definitely make this again, and again, and again. . .

My husband and kids LOVE this and ask for it all the time. I only make 2 changes, I add a little spaghetti seasoning to the tomato sauce and I add corn.

Hummingbird Cake I

Reviewed: May 12, 2014
This is AWESOME!! Husband, kids and I all loved it. Only thing I did different was double the pineapple and juice (by accident, I halved the recipe but forgot to half the pineapple.) Still turned out great. Will definitely make again and again and again.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2007
I had to add a little more milk than the recipe calls for, but otherwise good.

Indian Saffron Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
Loved this dish! I used chicken broth instead of water, but if you do you should omit the salt. And I used saffron threads instead of powder.

Gingerbread Boys

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
I loved the flavor of these boys. However they were really flat, too crisp, and didn't hold the shape very well. I think next time I'll bake them at a little lower temperature. Any other advice to solve this problem?

Maple-Garlic Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: May 30, 2011
My husband and I really liked this, but my 6 and 2 year old kids not so much. I also baked this at 425º for 35 minutes instead of grilling.

Home Style Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2011
I made this without the mustard as my 6 year old doesn't like anything with mustard in it. My kids love it this way. I like it too, but I think it would be better with the mustard.

Hoppin' John

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
Today is the first time that I've made, and eaten this dish. I was NOT disappointed! I followed the recipe only making a couple of changes. I added a couple of whole allspice and cloves and used chicken broth instead of water. My kids and I aren't big fans of spicy food so I left the red pepper flakes out. My husband added a dash of tabasco to his as he does like spicy. This will be our new New Years lunch from now on.

Beer Batter Fish Made Great

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
This is a really easy and tasty recipe. My kids ate it up (which isn't very common). I did cut back on the spices as it seemed like too much for us, but this is a matter of personal preference. I had some batter left over so I also used it with zucchini and it was GREAT!! Thanks for the recipe. I'll definitely make this again and again. ..

Heavenly Halibut

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
We really liked this recipe. The only things I did different was skip the butter as recommended by other reviewers, skip the hot sauce, and add parsley and basil. My husband really liked it, but told me next time to double the sauce.

Butter Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
We really enjoyed this, but I did make a few changes. I used half the butter, just 1/2 tsp of paprika, much less salt and pepper, and added 1/2 tsp thyme, doubled the nutmeg and added 1 cup of chicken broth.

Flavorful Beef Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
I really liked this recipe, but my kids didn't so much. I'll try it again though I think they were just having a bad eating day. I did add a little ginger as other reviewer suggested and let the meat marinate about an hour or so. Then I steamed the veggies a bit so that they would be softer. I also stir fried the meat with the marinade and added a little water.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2012
This was very easy and tasty too. Both boys and husband liked it a lot. Only made a couple of changes. Added a splash of white wine to butter and italian dressing mix. I used home made cream of mushroom instead of canned because I didn't have any canned soup. I added the soup after about an hour instead of at the end too. It was a bit thick so next time I'll add about 1/4 c of milk. Thanks for sharing.

Kelli's Fried Green Zucchini

Reviewed: May 1, 2012
This was really good. I only made a couple of minor changes. I used an eggplant (I didn't have zucchini) and instead of frying in oil I baked for 30 minutes at 375 (as another reviewer suggested). I also used Ranch dip instead of the spaghetti sauce. Will definitely make this again!
