About this Cook
I was born in the United States and lived there until 2002 when I moved to Spain. I was a high school English and Spanish teacher at home and here I teach English as a second language. I'm married to a Spaniard and we have 2 wonderful little boys.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook all kinds of things, but especially desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother is from Spain and so she made Spanish Tortilla with eggs and potatoes quite often. On special occasions she would also make a paella.
My cooking triumphs
I started cooking the Thanksgiving meal when I moved to Spain. My birthday is also in November, so every year I make the big meal for all of our friends. I also make a great brownie, chocolate chip cookies, and carrot cake.
My cooking tragedies
The real cook in our family is my husband. I'm only good when I follow a recipe. Usually my cooking tragedies occur when I have something on and forget about it until I notice the charred smell of burnt food.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
This is AWESOME!! But as it's hard, and expensive, to find root beer here in Spain, I made it with Coke. My friends, husband and I loved it. Thanks for the recipe!

Cheeseburger Soup I
I made this as written (except for the celery because I didn't have any). My husband and (finicky) boys loved it. Will definitely make again.

Finnish Meatballs (Lihapyorykoita)
My family likes sauce so I doubled the sauce and added some salt and 1/2 tsp of Allspice to it. My very picky boys both ate it up. Thanks
