Lemon Coolers

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2007
These are great! A friend gave me this same recipe but called them lemon drops. If you like soft chewy cookies then you will love these. I baked them on an airbake cookie sheet for about 14 minutes since baking on airbake cookie sheets make them lighter and less crusty than regular ones. My mother and I are going to make these for her next open house. (I shared a picture of how mine turned out.)

Never Fail Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2007
These are the best! I have tried and tried to find a good breakfast biscuit recipe and this is THE ONE! They are so moist and fluffy. You can slice them open to add butter and jelly or sausage and they don't fall to pieces. I used self-rising flour, left out the salt and baking powder and they were perfect. I will be making these for a long time to come. Thanks for sharing.

Fabulous Fruit Salad II

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2007
I was looking for a recipe to use up some fruit that I had and came across this. It was good and very fast. I didn't have strawberries on hand so used oranges instead, squeezing some of the juices over the rest of the fruit. I also used fat free yogurt and it turned out ok. I added a little cool whip and a sprinkle more of cinnamon to the top, and served it in a small custard dish. My husband loved it. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Restaurant-Style Hashbrown Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2007
I have a copy cat recipe for Cracker Barrel's hashbrown casserole and the only difference is to use colby cheese instead of cheddar. I used a little more cheese than called for and stirred in some milk to keep it from drying out about half way through baking time. Very good and does taste just like theirs.

Bread Pudding I

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2007
This was good but I made a few changes to try and match some I had eaten before and loved so much. I used 12-14 slices of light calorie day old sandwish bread, added 1 tps. almond extract to the egg mixture, only used 5 eggs instead of 6 and in place of one of the cups of milk used a can of Eagle Brand condensed milk instead to make it more creamy and rich. I also used fat free milk since that is all I had at the time. I used a round deep baking dish and had a little trouble getting it done enough in the center so had to increase baking time by about 25-30 minutes. When it was finally done it was great and my family ate the whole thing in one sitting. To me it was sweet enough by itself and didn't need any icecream or sauce to go with it but I'm sure that would be good also.

Scalloped Corn I

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2007
This was good but changed the recipe a little. Only used 1 Tablespooon of sugar since I used jiffy corn bread mix and it is already sweet. Also tried it once with the butter called for and had a hard time getting it to be done in the middle so tried it again with only 1/3 c. butter. It was much more evenly baked the second time. Thanks for sharing.

Dirt Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2007
I had heard of dirt cakes for years but never tryed making one until I saw this recipe. It was really good and a lot of fun to make. The whole family liked it. We actually used a shovel to dip the cake out of the flower pot that I used. I am going to make it in a beach bucket with light colored Oreos for summer and call it SAND CAKE. Thanks for sharing.

Aunt Betty's Banana Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2007
I had been looking for a banana pudding recipe that tasted like the one my aunt used to make. This is it and the one I will make over and over again for family gatherings. It is wonderful! Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Strawberry-Banana Gelatin Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2007
My family loves strawberry pretzel salad so thought I would try this. It is similar in taste without the pretzels and a little easier to make. Not to good as a left-over since the bananas get soggy but is great to take to a big family gathering. Thanks for sharing.

Chocolate Gravy II

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2007
My kids had never eaten chocolate gravy with biscuits before but had heard of it and been asking me to make it. I searched for a good recipe and found yours. I followed your directions exactly and this turned out just perfect. My kids loved it and have been asking for it again! Thanks for sharing, I will be keeping this recipe and making it a lot I'm sure.

Simple Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2007
This was good and easy to make. I did however cook them until they were almost done instead of just browning them before draining. They were plenty done and didn't fall apart after I added rest of the ingredients. I left out the fresh mushrooms and it was still very tasty.

Lemon Pie II

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2007
This was fast and very easy. I used a ready made shortbread crust, freshly squeezed lemons and added whip cream to the top. It turned out really good. I did forget to let my cream cheese set out for a bit so it was a little lumpy and hard to mix. Next time I will also add a little more lemon juice. This would be good to take anywhere, just garnish with lemon slices and it is so pretty.

Mini Sour Cream Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2007
These are very tasty and so easy. I doubled the recipe and made them in a flower design muffin pan and they turned out so cute. Just thick enough to not fall apart when dumping them out of the pan and you can hold them in your hands to eat them. Thanks for sharing.

Garlic Mashed Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2007
I thought these were very good. I added a little extra garlic powder to the potatoes after they were mashed because I couldn't really taste enough garlic. Thanks for the recipe.

Microwave Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2007
I decided to try this to use up some baked apples that I had made the night before. It was really good and reminded me of the kind I used to eat as a girl. The only thing I did differently was bake it about 2-3 minutes less since my apples were already done. I bet apple pie filling would be great to use too, will try that next time. Thanks for sharing.

Norwegian Parsley Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
These are pretty good the first day you make them but as left-overs they are even better. I had decided I didn't much like them because they were a little bland until when I reheated them. The flavor really comes out after setting up for several hours in the refridgerator. I will make these again since we eat a lot of left-overs in our lunches and potatoes are usually not as good the next day. Thanks for sharing.
