I'm a sheet metal worker living in Edmonton, Alberta with my wife and 2 boys. I tend to do most of the cooking since my wife is in school. Aside from metal working and cooking I tend to spend most of my spare time renovating our house (of which I have altered nearly every square foot) and reading or watching science fiction.
My favorite things to cook
I like trying any new recipe that catch my eye (or my appetite). My favourite dishes to try though are African dishes because they are completely different from what I grew up with.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our family has a tradition of having pancakes for supper about once each week. I've been making the same mix (homemade of course) since I first lived on my own so its almost like I don't have to cook that night since I have the process so completely memorized.
My cooking triumphs
Pumpkin pie to die for. 'nuff said.
My cooking tragedies
Back in college I wanted to make a pot of soup which called for (among other things of course) a clove of garlic. As I discovered later, a clove is one of the small pieces, not the whole bulb. The entire end of the dorm smelled like garlic for days. The soup, however, was still quite edible (by college standards of course).
