Skillet Green Beans

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2010
I would improve this by cooking the beans in bacon grease, but they were good without it.

This is the best sausage gravy recipe you will ever find. Just enough bite to be tasty and full of flavor

THIS IS THE BEST! I've been making this for about three years and it dissappears every time. Oh sooo sweet!! Served with a side dish of scalloped potatoes and I'm in heaven :-) Thank you for the great recipe.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
Good stuff. Not the best, but well on the way. I used beef broth instead of water and added 8-10 ounce jar of Giardiniera. Will definately make again until I find a better recipe.

Broccoli Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
Very good. I used 2 cups chicken broth, 1 cup rice and only 1/2 of medium onion. I also drained off most of the bacon grease after sauteing the onion. Perfect consistency!

Black Bean Soup I

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
I used smoked pork shanks and only used 1-1/2 tsp salt. Still very salty. Will not add any salt next time. Forgot all about adding vinegar. oops. Recipe overall was not what I was looking for, but ok. Will try to tweak it some more.

Julia's Easy Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2008
My "picky eater" family loved this dish! I did brown the chicken in olive oil, 2 cloves minced garlic, 2 tsp Wor. Sauce, and 1 tsp soy sauce. Added onion soup mix, corn starch, mushroom soup and water to pan drippings to make gravey. Sprinkled top of chicken with Thyme leaves. Chicken was very moist and had plenty of gravy. GREAT AROMA!

Elegant Oyster Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
I wish I could give this soup more stars. Excellent! I did omit mushrooms - simply don't care for them. I combined 1/2 Cup flour w/1 Cup milk in a gravy shaker. Increased chicken broth to 6 Cups, brought chicken broth and 1/2 Cup butter to boil, and stirred in gravey thickener. Add veggies and spices, simmer for 30 minutes then added oysters.
