Chicken Pot Pie IX

This is a monthly staple in our house. Everyone loves it and we never have leftovers. So I can't tell you how it fares when re-heated. You can really customize this anyway you prefer.

Tiramisu II

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2011
Goodness... my husband baked this for the family, and we adored it! Day three was probably the best, after it had been maturing in the fridge awhile. When we cut into it, the rum had mostly soaked through the pund cake and gave it terriffic texture. Delish!

Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2011
Delicious! Cooked these on grill outside. We didn't have toothpicks, so we stretched the bacon extra thin and weaved bacon between asparagus to get it to hold between three spears. When we got to the end of the bacon, tucked it into the middle of the spears. Once bacon starts to cook, it shrinks, thus tightening the wrap. Be careful then turning on grill, as bacon may try to unwrap, use tongs and lift off grill completely to turn over. Don't attempt to roll them over! One probably we experienced was asparagus burned before bacon was fully cooked. May try a cooler grill next time, or broil in oven.

Meringue II

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2011
This is so good, I dare say tastes better than the pie filling it covers! One tip, my hubby made it the first time trying to whip by hand with a wire whisk, poor guy! First try was white mush. Once I advised him to use an electric mixer he had success. We brown the tips of the meringue on Lo Broil for about a minute to get the top brown then turn to Hi Broil to get the darker tips.

Mahogany Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
These were pretty good. Smells great while cooking. Made exactly as written. They came out golden and sticky and my kids loved them. My hubby and I thought they were a little too sweet, may add something next time to balance out all the sugary flavor, like char-grill seasoning.

Pepperoni Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2011
Great dip as written. Everyone at a recent potluck looked at it pretty funny, but was a hit! Even the kids liked it. Only changes were before baking, placed a layer of whole pepperoni on top to give a better hint as to type of dish.

Grilled Tri-Tip with Oregon Herb Rub

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
My hubby made this, and honestly I didn't care about the meat anymore. He used the rub on both Tri-Tip and also on some ribs that we had. Wonderful flavor from the grill. No need for napkins, your fingers will be licked clean!

Barbie Doll Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2010
wonderful idea! I created a Dora cake for my little one with two boxes of Devils Food Cake from Betty Crocker. Baked in a stainless steel 2 quart bowl. Took about 90 minutes to bake all the way in the middle... the top was burnt, but that's OK, since you will need to cut that part off the make cake sit flat. Frosted with boxed Betty Croker frosting mix that you just add boiling water to. Frosting took food coloring well and had a nice, firm, marshmallow consistency that didn't "fall off" cake. Wrapped soft body Dora doll in saran wrap and placed in middle of cake that was cut out with a knife. It was the talk of the party!
