Puppy Chow

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2010
This is a great recipe that pleases all the men in my life (hubby, two nephews, little bro & friends) who frequent my home. I do use a whole 12oz bag of chocolate chips and a little extra powdered sugar and it's a hit!

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
[Edit- 3/1/10- Tried this recipe today with ham, broccoli, and green peppers- the best yet!] I'm not much into breakfast food, but when a family friend passed away unexpectedly, I wanted to send more than just a spaghetti dish or something. I thought a nice breakfast casserole would be a nice, protein-filled morning dish for the family instead of a dinner dish or a cereal-or doughnut breakfast. The family absolutely loved it, and I've made it for my parents/family every once in a while even though I don't eat it. It's a huge hit every time and easy to make. I usually do half sausage and half bacon, and add green peppers and broccoli, and offer sour cream to top it with. Thank you so much for this recipe, and my family thanks you too!

Egg Salad/Cucumber Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2008
I really liked this recipe- it may have been bland without a few alterations, but definitely a keeper. I left out the onion and just sprinkled a little onion powder on it. I used miracle whip instead of mayo (personal preference) and put seasoned salt on it and a little dill. I also added celery. Yummy!

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
It was pretty good- my hubby hates chicken & dumplings and liked this. I wasn't crazy about the texture, and I'd use a bit less salt, but very good other than that.

No-Fuss Meat Loaf

Excellent recipe- I didn't change a thing and it turned out beautifully. My hubby is really picky, and he told me that this one's definitely a keeper!

Unbelievable Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
My hubby told me to hang onto this recipe, and to give it 5 stars! I pretty much followed the directions, except I used lemon and lime juice from bottles and used garlic powder instead of garlic cloves. I grilled it on the foreman, since it's about 5 degrees outside, and served it with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Definitely a keeper!

Pie Crust V

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2007
I will make it again, but wish I had read the reviews first. It was incredibly difficult to roll out and kept breaking. Eventually, when I was about to give up, I grew brains and rolled it out on wax paper and transfered it to the pan from that. When I was ready to put it in the oven, I rubbed a bit of water over the top and sprinkled sugar on it, and wrapped the edges in aluminum foil. It was the best looking pie I've ever made, and my parents said they had never tasted better, either.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2007
These were the best cookies I've ever made. I'm not much of a baker, so I appreciated the easy instructions and was lucky to have all the ingredients on-hand. I did bake them for about 14 minutes and they were still soft, though, but I think my oven is screwy. Thanks for the recipe, this one's surely a keeper!

Milk Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2007
The bread is very good. I made a loaf of white bread last night and wanted to try something different. I noticed straight away that it was too dry, so I actually put a splash more milk in it and about a teaspoon of oil. It turned out great- fluffy and yummy.

Potato Salad II

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2007
Very plain with just potatoes and salad dressing- I added onion, green pepper, just a teeny squirt of ranch dressing, and mustard and it was wonderful! This is a very good start, but I would always add more to it!

Fluffy Two Step Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2007
My husband is a cheesecake fanatic, and also a cool-whip fanatic, so this really rocked his world! I added vanilla, and used 1.5 packages of cream cheese. I also used about 3/4 tub of cool whip, so it was a little thicker. Delicious!
