Baked Potato Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2014
I took others advice and left out the butter completely. Just mixed the flour with a little milk instead. Added 1/2 sautéed onion and minced garlic (didnt have green onions). Used 6 reg potatoes, 4 cups skim milk, 2 cups chicken broth, some garlic powder, 1/8-1/4 tsp cayenne, handful dried parsley and kept the light sour cream, sharp cheddar, and a few bacon pieces for on top of each bowl. Absolutely delicious, tons of flavor with not much added salt. The best part is I lowed the calories to about 369 per serving.

Chinese Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2013
I absolutely love (and order) Garlic Chicken every time I visit a Chinese food restaurant and was very much hoping I'd be able to cook something similar at home - THIS RECIPE IS AWESOME AND TASTED GREAT! What was best is that its a very simple recipe to follow and you can add any veggies you want. I didn't have the Shao-Hsing or dry sherry and for only a few TBSP didn't want to buy it so I used a little soy sauce in it's place. It was delicious! Didn't change another thing with the base recipe but added my own veggies during the simmering phase. Thanks for a great recipe I know I'll use over and over.

Aunt Fannie's Dinner

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
This recipe needed some tweaking, which I knew before I tried it. I added almost 2 tbsp of chili powder and a dash of red cayenne pepper and a dash of cumin as well. Also 4 times the pasta and sprinkle with shredded cheddar at the table. YUM YUM

Cherry Almond Coffeecake

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2009
This is a great and super easy recipe. It would be great with other pie fillings too.....apple, blueberry or another mixed berry. I used yellow cake because thats what I had on hand and since I didn't have the almonds I skipped it and it was still fabulous! Especially served warm!

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
I almost followed this exactly and it was excellent. I only had 3 (8oz) cans of tomato sauce. I used 1 lb of ground turkey & 1 lb of ground hamburger which I added the onion, minced garlic, salt & pepper to. I added an add'l yellow pepper w/ the green. I also added a large can of pinto beans and 1 small can of kidney beans. Overall this was a great recipe, I wouldn't mind adding a can of diced tomato's as well. Might try that next time. **BIG HIT**
