About this Cook
I am in my 50's & learned how to cook from my mom on a farm. My husband begs for my pan fried chicken so I will make it for him once or twice a year. Very messy to make & not very healthy but really good with mashed potatoes, drippings gravy & corn. With a nice home made apple pie (lard crust) for dessert.
My favorite things to cook
Cakes, cookies, candy. Complete meals for entertaining.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Curing turkey for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. My dad perfected this in the 60's and I continue today.
My cooking triumphs
Peanut brittle, I make about 60 lbs every Christmas for gifts but I won't sell it.
My cooking tragedies
Divinity- failed the one & only time I tried to make it 30 yrs ago & vowed never to make it again, but I love it. Also Suzanne Somers cheesecake-my only treat that was not well received by my friends.

Cinnamon Coffee Cake II
Everyone wanted this recipe. Only minor change was to use toasted pecans only because I love pecans. Thank you for an easy, easy recipe.

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn
Made 2 batches for a fundraiser bake sale. One batch original recipe, another batch with the molasses & spanish peanuts for the Cracker Jack appeal. Used many suggestions from others, no need to ever try a different recipe for caramel corn. Fantastic!
