Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
Amazingly delicious! I added diced celery and a small diced carrot to mine and a couple squirts of worcestershire sauce to give it a little tang. I cooked mine with the cover onto preserve some liquid, but opened it at the end. This is my NEW go to Sloppy Joe recipe!

Meatiest Vegetarian Chili From Your Slow Cooker

Reviewed: May 18, 2010
I would have given the recipe a full 5 stars, had it not turned out extremely hot to the taste. I followed the instructions to the letter and just halved the recipe as described, however, it was way too spicy. I then needed to add more beans, more tomatoes, and even a little honey to try to cut down on the spiciness and found myself with a very large pot of chili....enough to feed "The Waltons" on TV. When I prepare it again, I will definitely eliminate a lot of the extra heat by leaving out the hot sauce and some of the chili powder.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
The recipe is absolutely delicious (after 4 hrs.), but please do not make the mistake I did. Because it called for a 4-8 hr. cooking time, I thought I had better cook it for the full time. When I checked it at about 4 hrs. it looked great and ready to use, but I wasn't sure it had cooked all the way thru, so I did the full 8. Dried and overcooked! Will surely make again and only cook 4 hrs. next time. I added cooked sausage, apples , and craisins to mine and it was wonderful. Didn't give it 5 stars because the instructions left that big window of time.

Cabbage Roll Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
I made this last nite and loved it. I added a couple handsful sauerkraut and 2 Tablespoons honey and some lemon juice to give it more of the traditional sweet and sour flavor. It was DIVINE, as I am sure the basic recipe is, as well.
