Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2013
If you like fluffy pancakes these are definitely the ones to try! Don't let the few bad reviews turn you off. The vinegar is simply to sour the milk, a substitute for buttermilk. You do not taste vinegar at all, but if you don't want to use it, just omit the milk and vinegar and use buttermilk in place of them. Do not over stir either, the batter will be very thick and not like your usual batter. This recipe is perfect, except for the fact that the servings are off. I got 6 pancakes out of one batch, so for our family of four we need to double the recipe. Very good though and will make again!

Strawberry Cake from Scratch

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2009
I had a hard time finding a recipe for strawberry cake that didn't call for a cake mix. When I found this I decided to give it a try. It was a huge hit! I added a tiny bit more fresh strawberries and a touch of red food coloring for the effect, but otherwise followed the directions. I will definitely use this recipe again!

I didn't make the frosting, but the cake was fantastic! I will be using this one as my #1 chocolate cake recipe! Definitely try this one!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
I'm not sure what happened with those who gave poor ratings because these were really good! I use I Can't Believe It's Not Butter and one package of the pudding was sugar free. I also added 1 tsp of salt. Very good if you like soft cookies! If you like yours more on the crispy side, push the dough flat and cook an extra minute or two. Very good recipe and will definitely make again!

Waffles I

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2012
This was a good basic waffle recipe. I did add a touch more sugar and vanilla, but otherwise followed the recipe. I made a batch and a half to give us some leftovers for tomorrow! :)

Hard Rock Candy

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2011
This was my first time making any kind of candy, and it seems that this is a great place to start! The only thing that I'm not sure about is that my first batch came out yellow in color, with no flavors added. I thought it would be clear, so I don't know if that was me or just how it turns out! My second batch I used cherry extract and it turned out well. I can't wait to try different flavors and shapes! I didn't have any helpers to grab the pan from me and clean it right away so here is what I did: Fill the pan with water and bring to a boil, occasionally stirring and scraping the bottom. Pour into sink and your pan should be pretty clean! :)

Tres Leches Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
This was my first time making and eating a tres leches cake. I was skeptical because the thought of a soggy cake grossed me out! This was a very nice surprise though! I did cut back about 1/2 cup on the milk mixture and it was perfect! Not dry at all but not a soppy mess. I will make this one again!

Chocolate Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2011
I love this bread! I did change it a bit to make it more healthy by using 1 cup Splenda, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup wheat flour and 2 cups white flour. Although I changed the original recipe I can say that it is a solid recipe to use. Moist and chocolatey this one is definitely a keeper!

POM, Banana and Pistachio Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2007
This was a good recipe. I did half wheat flour and used applesauce instead of oil. My only complaint is that the pomegranate was a bit crunchy for my liking. I knew they were seedy but thought that once they were baked they would soften. Still a good bread though.

Great pancake recipe! It is a huge batch though so make sure you adjust according to your needs! Also great with chocolate chips mixed in. I will use this recipe again!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2011
I gave this a 4 because of the frosting. I tried the recipe as is but the frosting was so thick and crumbly and wasn't mixing together. I then added about 2 tablespoons of milk and it turned out much better. The honey was a bit strong too so I would cut that in half next time. The brownies were good, not too cake like and not too fudge like. Overall a good recipe and will make it again with the couple of changes to the frosting.

Caramel Macchiato Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
This was a very moist and yummy banana bread. With that said, there was no distinct caramel macchiato or coffee flavor. I didn't tell my husband what the recipe was called and he just thought it was a normal banana bread. Either way it is a good bread, but if you want to taste the coffee or caramel macchiato flavor you will have to adjust the recipe. I also made the frosting which separated and was really runny. I'd suggest skipping the frosting, save your ingredients for one that works!

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2009
Not bad, but not good either! We could barely taste the orange and the vinegar was the taste and smell that stood out the most. We ate it but I doubt we will make this one again.

Pancake Stack with Syrup

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2009
I just made the syrup and thought overall it was good. It was a bit runny for me and the sugar was a bit overpowering. I might make it again, but will also look for others to try.

This recipe had me all exited based on the other reviews. It was very easy and fast, but it was very dry. Not bad, just not as good as I thought they would be...
