About this Cook
I have a recently-developed interest in cooking. I live with my boyfriend and we recently found out we have a new addition coming in August. As my family begins to grow and we make traditions of our own, I'd like to try my hand at a lot of new recipes and cooking techniques.
My favorite things to cook
I started experimenting when I went vegetarian about a year ago. I've found that I enjoy cooking but really enjoy baking. I have several cookie and brownie recipes that I love. I'm looking to add some dinner recipes to the list!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, we stuck to the all-American comfort foods. Pot roast, sloppy joe's, lasagna, and casseroles. For birthdays and family gatherings, we always have a big pot of chili on the stove.
My cooking triumphs
For about three months, I overcooked every vegetable I made. One day, I was about to give up and I made a yummy vegetable frittata. So I kept pressing on.
My cooking tragedies
Oh, too many to count but luckily I learn from my mistakes.

Foil Potatoes
These potatoes were very tasty but next time I will use olive oil instead of butter as suggested in another review.

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction
I made this for Valentine's day dinner and it was a hit. I was a little scared to use lamb because I've never made it before so I substituted for pork chops. It was pretty simple and really tasty!
