Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
Wow. This was really good. Thats all I have to say. I was concerned it might be a little "spicey" but it was perfect. Just the right amount of flavor and super moist!!! Ill definitely be making this over and over again!

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2008
Wow! This was REALLY good!!! My boyfriend, who doesnt care for hardly any sort of mexican food really liked this! After reading the reviews I made some alterations. First, I didnt use any olives cuz we didnt have any. I followed the suggestions of others and instead of mixing the zesty beans in w/the meat I spread on tortillas, which I layered 3 tortillas together in a stack. Oh, Also, when I browned the meat I used some of the Taco Seasoning I on this site for some extra flavor. Very Yummy. Next time, I might try using two layers of tortillas instead of three though.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2008
This was REALLY good!!! I did make some changes, only to suit our preferred tastes. I cut the chili powder in half because I dont like too much heat, and then only used 1/4 cumin because I've never had it before so wasnt sure if I'd like it. I also just gave a dash of salt (we're not huge salt fans!) I used this with the burrito pie recipe and it was really good! A little heat but not overpowering!

Romano Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2008
My boyfriend LOVED this!!! He said you better give this one a good rating. To me, it tasted just like Cordon Bleu but w/out sauce! Anyways, it was really easy to make, I used thinly sliced ham from the deli counter and instead of making in the microwave I cooked in the oven at 350 until finished. It's nice to know though that if I'm ever in a super big rush I can cook in the microwave! Thanks for the recipe!

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2008
DE-LISH!!!! This was VERY good!!!! :) We finally had this today (made a day ago) and my oh my!!! Ours tasted a little rich but we topped w/chocolate sauce so that could be why. I followed others suggestions and coated my bananas w/a lemon juice/water mixture so they wouldnt brown, and I also blended some bananas in with the pudding to give it a little more banana flavor! I also only had a small package of pudding not 5 oz...and still tasted great!!! Made our own vanilla wafers. Looked pretty, and will make again! :)

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2008
Chili is a hard thing to rate/make/read suggestions and comments about. Its just one of those things that can be made SOOO different and be SOO good many different ways!! I thought this chili was good, and especially good for a base chili and then you modify to make it suit your tastes. I followed others suggestions and cut out the tomato juice all together and used 2 cans tomato sauce and 2 cans of diced tomatoes. Next time I will only use 1 can tomato sauce. It seemed too thick but once it started heating up it was a little more liquidy than I liked. It was good though. My boyfriend rated it a 3.5. Me a 4 and our friend who was over a 5! So... anyways all in all I thought this was good especially for a beginner Chili Maker! Oh, I also forgot to mention I browned my meat beforehand w/garlic cloves and onion and then put everything in the crock pot!

Vanilla Wafer Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2008
These were SO yummy. Not as hard as the kind you would get in the box at the stores, so that was a little different. But, you can always cook a little longer to make a little harder. I used these for the Banana Pudding IV on this site and cooked them a little longer so they'd be crispier for the topping. Will make again. Thanks! :)

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
I halved the recipe since there's only 2 of us, and added 1/2 tsp lemon peel (didnt have zest) to the cream cheese mixture, then spread raspberry jam on the bottom then the cheese mixture! It was good, just not what I was expecting. It was very sweet and very rich! I was kind of expecting it to be a little more solid, but instead it was more like a creamy consistency. My boyfriend said they were like an entemens (sp?) dessert!? These were fast and easy so will prob make if in a bind but I think I was looking more for like a croissant type thing.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
I have to say these were VERY good! I dont know what people are talking about when they said they were lacking flavor!? I followed others suggestions and cooked the sauce on the stovetop and then when serving poured the sauce over! This kept the outside of the chops crunchier. It was delicious. The pork chops were tender and so yummy. Me and my boyfriend rated this 5 stars, the only thing is we wish we would have made more sauce! Oh, we also used Cream Of Chkn since we dont care for mushrooms. Didnt taste a chickeny taste. Also I rubbed chops w/garlic powder and lawrys seas salt, and added ital seasonin, garlic powder, onion powder to the sauce and only baked chops for 35 mins! Definitely a keeper!

Asparagus with Parmesan Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
These were really good. Instead of oil, we soaked our asparagus in italian dressing for a little while then topped and baked. Also, didnt use balsalmic vinegar.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
Thought these were really really good. I think I messed up somewhere though, becasue my boyfriend and I didnt think they tasted like Cinnabon's rolls. However this is a very good recipe and I will definitely make again!

Tiramisu Layer Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
The taste was amazing!!! I had a hard time w/this cake though, most likely because I'm still a beginner and learning but I didnt like the outside of the cake, it was too runny for me! Also I used coffee granules but they stayed whole granules. I will DEFINITELY make this again, but follow others suggestions and try something different.

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
This was really good! The reason I give it four stars instead of five, is I didnt feel like the meat that the recipe called for was right. Or maybe not what I was used too!? I like super thin and mine came out more of like a fajita style...probably something I did wrong!? So I think next time I will follow others suggestions and get a different kind of meat, maybe even a roast beef from the deli counter? The garlic mayo really did make it wonderful though! Never thought of mixing the two!

Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
These were really good!!! Good by themselves, however, I felt like I needed some sort of sauce. I think these would be really good for a chicken parmesan, or maybe w/a cream sauce. I will definitley make these again but try them along w/something else!
