Which Came First - the Chicken or the Egg?

Yes, my 13 year old and I had this debate last night.  He brought up a u-tube video - I brought up the bible.  In his witty, dead-pan delivery he responds to my comment that God filled the earth with animals and, not eggs, he says, " you never know - he may have it rain down eggs.  Eggs with tiny little angel wings attached so they would land softly."  Ummm - yea, ok.  lol  I love this kid!  And I got to start off my day yesterday attending my grandson's 'Grandparent's Day at School.'  He is in Kindergarten and we had a GREAT time.  My heart melted when it was time for me to leave and he tried to convince me that I was supposed to stay at school all day.  :)  I would have loved to!

My 13 year old was just accepted into a research study -- we joke about him growing unwanted facial hair or experiencing uncontrobable bodily functions, but the truth is we are thrilled that he gets to try this new medication for his migraines.  I don't have migraines, but my son has suffered horribly for 3 years.  Please pray this helps!

I strated making whoopie . . .  pies at 7:00 Am this morning.  I need to take 5 dozen cookies to church tonight.  Chocolate whoopies and gingerbread whoopies . . .  my house smells good!  Laundry is done, upstairs is clean - and momma's about to take a nap (well, I'm going to lay down and read as soon as the whoopie pies are frosted and assembled.)  Church at 5 and then home for family movie night.  My poor husband had to be at work at 4 this morning and worked until noon.  He ate a bite and is now curled up on the couch in the family room.  I'm guessing a nap is on his mind :)

Last week I put together 2 weeks worth of menus before grocery shopping, so I don't have to worry about this weekend - it's kind of nice!  Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone!

Love your post! Saw a YouTube video a few weeks ago about chicken vs egg and thought it was great. Had to watch it a couple of times to get it but it was worth watching. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1a8pI65emDE I hope you got your nap in, and sure wish I was there to enjoy one of those whoopie pies!

I love the way kids consider a weighty question and solve it so innocently like your sons little angel wings on eggs.

About Me
I am 49, married, have 3 children and 1 grandchild! My kids are 28, 27 and 13. My grandson is 6. I am a social worker for the state of Missouri and work with foster children.
My favorite things to cook
I love discovering 'quick and easy' recipes that I can pass along to those I work with. I like exerimenting with my slow cooker and getting creative with new side dishes. I use my NuWave oven ALL the time love it! Today I roasted 2 whole chickens and grilled a whole bag of frozen chicken breasts - lots of possibilities for this weeks meals!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grown childen and I love to cook together - chicken fettuccini alfredo is a favorite of my oldest sons, with our own version of alfredo sauce. My 13 year old son is really learning the fun of experimenting when cooking and has made his dad and I several delicious meals. My daughter is a vegeterian, so creating new dishes and flavors is our favorite time. And of course entering recipes into the contests at the state fair.
My cooking triumphs
My husband and I have entered recipes for 4 years at the state fair. We find we do best with the recipes that we completely make from scratch - and literally throw together hoping it turns out!! ha We have won 5 prizes.
My cooking tragedies
Gravy - a can not make good gravy no matter what I try! It really is tragic.
