OK, so here's how the story goes. My hubby and my daughter have a running joke. My daughter's the blonde...anyway she's very gullable. My husband Rob is in San Antonio as most know on Temp Assignment Duty.

So Rob calls Emily a while back and tells her, he left her 50 bucks under her pillow, so I didn't know anything about it until she called me telling me what Rob had done...hence the laughing about now, when I find that she tore her room apart, bed and all looking for it. Well you know it wasn't there. So Emily tells Rob and me, he owes her 50 dollars now, and she asks him every time they talk...So Rob comes home on leave during spring break and he tells her that he put money under her bed...she didnt fall for it.

Well he calls me today and tells me he's going to call her and tell her again about putting money under her bed and I said WAIT!!! I then told him let me go by the toy store and buy some play money, Emily was going with a friend to their soccor practice, and it would be perfect timing, just wait so that I had time to stuff the play money all over her room and then wait until I text him and call her after that....well I texted him and said, okay she's charging her phone, text her about it....well he calls me instead...

So Emily calls me, tells me the kids were home, and that she was leaving to go to Alex's soccor practice, she's be home around 7. It gave me plenty of time to do "Operation: Money Drop" I went by the store got the fake money, and got 10 dollars cash back in one's, and left the store. I ran home making sure my other children didn't see me red handed with the goods, and bolted into her room. I hid the fake 20's in her shoe holder, her pillows, in her chair, her make up box, at the edge of her dvd player and in her little table fan. Then stuck 3 REAL dollars in a few of those spots that she's notice.

So as I'm telling Rob on the phone she doesn't know yet, and asked her if her phone was charging, help her sister in the bathroom as a diverison her not to be in her room when Rob calls her phone, because she just got home. but she was only in an out before I could catch her, well, hubby still on the phone with me, so he didn't have a chance to call her when she comes bopping into the kitchen yelling, I found a dollar in my pillow with fake money...I thought....hmm how do I play this off, he's in my ear saying "WHAT!" I said "not sure what your talking about Emily but daddy wants to talk to you" I hand her the phone, and she's like "what? how? but how did you?" and she's looking at me, she throws the phone at me and runs. Rob then tells me, he told her that he had ME hide the fake dollars every where to conceal the real money that he actually hid.....Well you know I busted out laughing, and tried to quietly go down the hall, she's yelling "someone help me find the money" I'm looking in, and I see clothes just flying everywhere, I mean to tell you I was holding back everything from tearing up, from hysterically laughing, my other 3 children are trying to figure out what is going on and I hear her say,,,"oooh another dollar...man where did he hide it all....?" I'm walking back and forth, and by this time I'm was balling hysterically. I had Rob on the phone the whole time, I hear him laughing so bad he was choked up, I am by this time, trying to get a paper towel to wipe my eyes, I hear her screaming, "asked dad, I can't find but 3 dollars".....She's running back in the room, grabbing my phone, "Daddy Daddy, where's the rest.....I can't find it all. There's fake money everywhere..." I yell April Fools, and she's still not getting it, I yell it again, And she looks at me like " Oh Cr@p!!!" I hate y'all. And storms off.....I have been rolling for 3 hours. And she even came back in and said, "Seriously mom, did dad hid a bunch of ones in my room or what...?" I told her nope. It was only 3....she was soo upset, and said okay you got me. It was the funnies site I have seen in a long while. How she still managed to fall for it. HAHAHAHA!!! And still managed to say, "Well daddy, now owes me 47 dollars."

Some day she, too, will look back on this and laugh. Then she'll play the same prank on her kid. Good one! Thanks for the laugh!

You KNOW that this story will be brought up anytime she has money issues for the rest of her life!! I'm glad you stuck a few real dollars in there too.

Funny!! I'll have to use that one once my daughter realizes a dollar is worth more than a package of M&M's.

Well, I can see Emily's point. Sounds like $47 is outstanding; verbal contract, and all.

About Me
I'm an active mom of 4 and married the love of my life. I'm a full~time certified care giver, part~time food blogger @ http://the7upexperience.com , avid & obsessed novice photographer. I love allrecipes and pretty much an addict. I'm also a new member to Banana Belt Photography Club that's local to my community, and an Allrecipes Allstar Brand Ambassador. And have stamped allrecipes on me for life. The site has opened up my eyes to so much more then just recipes. I'm proud to be a member of this site and my love, passion & learning other recipes from other valued members has really broaden my horizens.
My favorite things to cook
Asian, Mexican, Multi-cultured foods, Low-fat, Low-sugar, Stews, casseroles, slow cooker meals and baking......Everything!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Funny but true: Cooking traditions men sit in the recliner and women in the kitchen...lol My family is always in the kitchen. My sister and her family, my parents and my family celebrate Christmas in January. Due to distance and work related jobs. Every year we plan what we are having ahead of time. Our tradition is usually food we've had abroad growing up overseas. Normally with Asia influences. It's always a special treat when we normally don't make the dishes often throughout the year.
My cooking triumphs
Unknown to me when I came up with a chicken and dumpling recipe of my own, my father was floored & delighted and told me it tasted just like his mother's.......My mom dropped her jaw because it was better then her's. It's a staple with my husband and kids.
My cooking tragedies
I had found a recipe for a Pretzel Pie(like Pecan Pie), thought it looked good and I didn't follow the recipe when it said unsalted pretzels. I just grabbed the normal stuff with the salt on it, made the pie, and my dad and husband were painting with thrist. And making weird pickle sour expressions, when I realized the pie was over salted. Oopppss! I never made it again.
