Famous Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2009
I followed the recipe to a tee and still ended up with tough dry pork chops with a wonderful breading... I just don't think I am intended to make pork

Mango Spring Roll

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
These tasted very fresh! I accidently bought wonton wrappers as opposed to egg roll wrappers so mine were small and thick skinned but still delicious. I substituted vanilla greek style yogurt for the mayonnaise because I used these as a dessert and I just can't eat mayonnaisse. I also srinkled them with some cinnamon sugar right out of the fryer. I served them on a key lime sauce to cut the sweetness of the mango.

Ginger Glazed Mahi Mahi

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
I added 1 TBL mirin and a dash of wasabi powder to the marinade/glaze it tasted GREAT. I grilled it (as per a previous review), for me that was a mistake the marinade that was on the fish never really set so when I went to put the glaze on it just slid off of the fish, but the taste was still there and it married perfectly with the rice and stir-fry I served with the fish. I was just a bit weak on it's own hence the 4 star

Our Favorite Olive Beef

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
I did add an onion and a couple tablespoons of red wine, this would have been really good with a different roast, chuck roast just has too many fatty pieces for my taste. That being said the broth was absolutly fantastic, and it could not have been easier to make. I recomend doing it on high for 6 hours not low although that could just be my machine.

Thai Curry Tofu

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
The curry was a little too sweet for me so I added cheyenne pepper, fixed it right up! However the tofu was just too much I recomend cutting it into very small pieces maybe 1/2 inch dice.

Triple the Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
These could have been the best cookies I've ever made! They were easy to make and came out perfect mine baked for 12 minutes. If you like ginger cookies, you will LOVE these. I did not get to baking until 2 days after I made the dough and they still came out great.

Stuffed Peppers My Way

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
The two components of this dish never really blended for me. It was more like a rice dish on top of a great tasting bowl. The arborio rice also seemed a little wierd to me as well, I would go with something like jasmine, basmati, or just a plain long grain white rice.

Tuscan Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
Soup was pretty good I didn't chop the spinach and even though I used baby spinach the pieces were still to large. I would have giving this a 3.5 if I could have, and be sure to use half and half in place of the evaporated milk.

Panzanella Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
The olives may have been a bit out of place... should have used capers. This is a fantastic salad!

Tofu Parmigiana

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
Wow it's better than chicken!!! No joke I don't even like tofu I just made it for my wife. I did use the pre-grilled tofu, and pressed it out between paper towels. I also breaded with an egg wash (1 egg and 1 TBL water). I may never make chicken parm again!

Warm Jalapeno Cheese Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
This is MUCH better than jarred queso I used Cabot pepper jack and a medium salsa and the heat and seasoning levels were great! To top it all off if you can make a simple cheese sauce you can make this dip!

German Potato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2008
I omitted the onions (didn't have any) and substituted rice wine vinegar for white for the same reason. Everything still worked out great. I will be making this again!

Indonesian Satay

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2008
I did not have any peanut oil so I susbtituted sesame oil in the marinade and let it go for about 6 hours, this worked great I would have even gone 8 hours if I had the time! I thought the taste was subtle but appreciated my 3 year old LOVED them and my 1 year old could not get enough of the sauce, which by the way extremely good.

Scalloped Potatoes and Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2008
This was almost a complete flop! Here is what I did first of all I added garlic and nutmeg to the potato and onions. After one hour cook time at 350 everything was cooked but I use that term loosly so I dropped the oven down to 300 and cooked another HOUR! But wow what a difference. I think the recipe might cook properly in one hour as stated if it were covered.

World's Best Bacon Cheese Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2008
The flavor was good and it was very easy to prepare! I used greek yougurt in place of mayo, cause I just can't do the mayo thing. It was just lacking something, maybe a sharpness I don't know.
