Reviewed: May 10, 2007
Loved this! I did without the lemon zest. Can't wait to take to our next BBQ.

Rumbleberry Crisp

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
Soooo good! Made for two summers now, using fruits from my garden and neighborhood. I follow pretty much as written but usually add extra fruit and a bit more cinnamon. Hard to beat.

Simple Garlic and Basil Pesto

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
Very tasty and loved doing this in the blender instead. I would cut back on the olive oil just a bit next time.

Winter Root Vegetables

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
This was so yummy. I only had parsnips, potatoes and brussel sprouts and I was craving roasted veggies so combined this recipe with another. I roasted the veggies (with red onions) tossed with olive oil for about an hour first. Then tossed them in the sauce. So good!

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2007
The kind of chili you think of when you hear the word "chili". Pretty spicy, but I may have put in a little extra here and there on the chili powder, cayene and hot sauce.

Pork Medallions with Dijon Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
This was very easy and very good. We didn't get to eat it right away so it sat in the warming drawer for awhile and was still tasty.

Best Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
This was my first time eating fried green tomatoes so maybe its not this recipe, but there were just okay. I think you could fry anything in bacon grease and it'd be good.

Spinach and Spaghetti Squash Quiche

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2007
This was too bland for me. With some dashes of Chipolte Tabasco it was better. Too much milk and too little eggs also for my liking. Loved the idea with the spaghetti squash though.

Pumpkin Pancakes

Rave reviews by all at the breakfast where I served these. Nice spice mixture. Later: I continue to make these and am always asked for the recipe. I now make a big batch and freeze them for my toddlers. They love them!

Mimi's Smoked Salmon Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2008
Very tasty! Didn't have tarragon so skipped that. Used celery seed instead of celery because I was out, but the real stuff would be better. Might try adding some bacon next time. Could saute with the onions and perhaps replace some of the butter and/or olive oil with the bacon drippings.

Peachy Moist Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2008
Very good muffins. I discovered I had plain vs. vanilla yogurt so I added an extra half teaspoon of vanilla. I also added some frozen raspberries at that last minute. I'll make again for sure, trying different fruits. I love muffins that have yogurt in them!

Dijon Crusted Halibut

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
Very very good. My husband said it was "restaurant quality"!!! My fish was a bit thick so it took 30+ minutes of cooking, part of that at 400 degrees. I didn't have enough (soy) mayonaise so I added plain yogurt and it was fine. It crusted nicely, looked good and tasted delicious.

Slow Cooker Chicken Mole

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
I love mole and this was my first attempt. I only made 4 servings and it didn't seem that the conversion made for enough sauce. I added some extra tomato sauce and chicken broth near the end. It didn't need the whole 10 hours to cook either. The taste was very good though. I used all raisins since I didn't have currants. My 16-month boys ate it heartily. Will make again.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Very good soup. I substitued some spicy V8 for some of the tomato sauce and used chicken broth instead of beer as others suggested. Thanks for the recipe!

Homemade Horseradish

Reviewed: May 12, 2008
Great and very easy. My processor doesn't chop the horseradish as smooth as I'd like, so the radish and the liquid seperate a bit, but still gets rave reviews.

Herbed Apricots 'n' Carrots

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
A nice change for cooked carrots. I was preparing with my toddlers in mind more than my husband and I, but I really liked them and so did the boys. I used some fennel bulb slices that I threw in with the carrots and apricots part way through since I didn't have fennel seeds. Next time I'll add more apricots.

Oatmeal and Wheat Flour Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2008
These pancakes had an odd smell while cooking and just didn't taste great. I followed the recipe except added a sprinkling of wheat germ and doubled the amount of blueberries. Loved how healthy they were but won't be making again.
