White Chili with Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
We are having a chili cook-off tomorrow at church and I wanted something different. I found this recipe and made it exactly as written except I substituted cilantro for the parsley. After fixing it I thought it needed just a little "kick." I added one can of Rotel and it was exactly what it needed. It did add color but it was just right for people who do not like things extremely hot. Fixing cornbread with it and hopefully will win!!! I could eat the whole pan I do believe!! :)

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
Even thought it is 96 degrees out I fixed this chili to take to a birthday party. It is DELICIOUS. I'm making copies now for all the people that ate some. I didn't change a thing. Went by the recipe exactly. It was sooooooo good! And, even though there are a lot of ingredients it's relatively simple to make. UMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!

Tangy Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: May 23, 2008
I have wanted to fix this recipe for about a week or so and finally got around to it today. Wish I had done it sooner. YUM!! YUM!! I really like pork and this really gives it a good flavor. The pork was so tender you didn't need a fork. I marinated mine for about 6 hours. Also put a clove of garlic in the marinade. Wonderful. My husband loved it. Had it with rice and green beans. A wonderful meal. Thanks for the recipe.

Pebber Nodder (Danish Christmas Cookies)

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2007
I had never heard of cardamom so went to the store to get it. After bringing it home and smelling it I almost didn't use it. But......these cookies are fabulous!!! I rolled mine in about 1/2 inch balls, rolled them in granulated sugar and baked for 10 mins. These are wonderful with coffee or hot tea. I also added 1 tsp. vanilla simply because I add vanilla to all cookie and cake recipes I think will benefit from it. These were awesome!!!!! My husband smelled the cardamom also and wrinkled his nose up. He's a real cookie fan and eats cookies and milk every night before bed. After they finished, he couldn't keep his hands off. A great benefit from baking these cookies?????? The house smells wonderful!!!!!!!

Sweet Party Mix

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
We doubled this recipe the day before Thanksgiving and had it eaten by Friday!!! Even with all the other "goodies" we had. Then again, we doubled the recipe on Saturday and it was gone by Sunday night. We had 8 people munching on it and we couldn't stop!!! This is the best party mix ever. This will be the main ingredient in the Christmas baskets this year. YUM. YUM!!!! As another reviewer said, Don't fix this if you are dieting!! Ain't no way you can leave this alone.

Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2007
I had some chicken breasts in the fridge I had to use and since this was the first really cold fall day I wanted to make some soup. I went to this site, found this recipe and decided to give it a try. My chicken made 3 cups which isn't too much and I will probably use 3 cups whenever I make this again. I made this exactly as printed except for the green bell peppers. We DO NOT like any bell peppers regardless of color!! Instead I put 1.5 cups of corn in with the liquid ingredients. Simmered for 15 minutes and then tasted the broth. We like our food a little spicier so I followed another reviewers advice and added chili powder, cumin and red pepper flakes. Let that simmer for a few minutes, then added a can of Campbells cheese soup to make give it a little more "body." While it was simmering right before serving, I cut corn tortillas in 1/4 inch strips and deep fried them. I dished up the soup, put a little "birds nest" of tortilla strips on top and let me tell this is absolutely the best soup I've ever had!! I like the original recipe with the substitution of corn and will probably make it like that most of the time. Without the cheese soup and tortillas strips this is a wonderful soup that anyone on Weight Watchers could use. My son and daughter-in-law came over and ate with us and we ate the entire pot of soup. WONDERFUL. YUM, YUM. I think next time I will leave off the tortilla strips and fix some jalapeno corn bread.....can't wait.

Marinated Turkey Tenderloins

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2007
I fixed this exactly as written and it was absolutely delicious!!! The marinade is so good we want to try it with steak. It's moist and very flavorful. I usually don't care for turkey grilled due to the dryness but this was really good. I will definitely make this again and again and am anxious to try it on steak. UMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!! And, it is quick and easy. I marinated it overnight then put in on the grill, baked some potatoes and fixed some peas and had a great meal!!!!

Glazed Apple Cookies

My husband LOVES cookies like this. These are wonderful. A real "comfort" food. Kinda "old-fashioned" type cookie. YUM! YUM! Will make for gift baskets come Christmas. Great with hot tea or coffee. Starts the day off feeling warm and cuddly.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III

These things are addicting!!! They were easy to make, light, flavorful and a real treat. My husband liked the filling so well he iced the top of his with the leftover filling. I'm going to use the filling for icing cupcakes. I've been baking for 43 years and this is one of the best cookies I've had come out of my oven. MMMMMMMMM!!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2007
I had read all of the reviews of this recipes and really looked forward to fixing it. Had a party and was really disappointed with it. Some really liked it so I sent leftovers home with them. I also brushed the tortillas with real butter then sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar mix. They were great!! What a letdown!!
