Amazing Whole Wheat Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2012
I wish I'd never tried this recipe. It is way, way better than the 20-minute crust I used to make (which I'd actually quite liked until I tried this). Unfortunately, I usually only have 20 minutes to make crust. I may have to make pizza a Sunday night thing so I can continue to make and devour this truly amazing pizza crust!

Mexican Bean Salad

Reviewed: May 18, 2011
I've made this many, many times and it's always great. I usually reduce the dressing and sugar. Lately I've been adding cooked quinoa (1/2 c dry). Fantastic!

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
Added a can of diced tomatoes and doubled the other sauce ingredients. It was still lacking a bit. Otherwise not too bad. If I make it again, I will add more cabbage to the bottom of the crock pot as per reviews.

Chili Rubbed Pork Tenderloin With Apricot Ginger Glaze

One of the best meals of the summer! Didn't have any ginger, but it was still sooooo good.

Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free!)

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
I was really dreading going gluten-free, but this cake made me realize that it could not only be doable, but delicious! It was seriously good. I loved the gooeyness just out of the oven, and it retained its taste and moisture very well until it was polished off a few days later. Thanks so much for this recipe!!

Cucumber Tomato Salad

This was good and simple. I used sweet white onion and added some dried dill. The dressing complements the ingredients very well.

Spanish Rice Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
Delicious! Changed just a couple things for personal preferences (ground turkey instead of beef, no brown sugar, some cayenne pepper) but left the recipe largely intact and loved it! Will be added to the rotation.

Lana's Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2010
Excellent! Used ground chicken instead of beef, but it was soooo good. Like other reviewers said, I halved the meat but kept the sauce the same. Also used both a red and green pepper. Will make again!

Tasty and simple. Only used ~1/3 of the intended oil. Also tripled the lemon juice. Pretty good overall.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Enjoyed this recipe. Halved it and added frozen peas and carrots. The biscuits make good dumplings.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
As written, four stars. You definitely want to shred the chicken, and I wouldn't cook it as long as is stated. Added green pepper and red onion and fashioned Italian dressing from apple cider vinegar, olive oil and some spices. Pretty good served on toasted buns with coleslaw and side of sweet potato fries.

Chicken Enchiladas V

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
Very disappointed in this after reading all the rave reviews. It was very dry and bland. The chicken itself needs spiced, and there needs to be way more sauce. Though this sauce wasn't the best tasting (bland, salty), so I don't agree with the reviews that just say to double it. Oh well, won't be making again.

Garlic Mashed Red Potatoes

Made as-written, then made again with a little more butter and half-and-half instead of milk. Much better the second way.

Old Fashioned Paradise Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
Love this pie! This year, I left off the pecan topping, but I have made it as directed in the past. Really good both ways! I prepare the cheesecake layer the night before and leave it in the freezer. Never had a problem with the layers mixing. Not sure about the people who say to double the bottom layer...it takes up half the pie as written. Filled the pumpkin layer to the brim, and still had a cup or so left over.

Creole Chicken II

Didn't think it was bland at all. Ended up adding 1.5 tablespoons of curry powder. Only made two chicken breasts, but made the full amount of sauce. Froze and will use over rice.

Made it with ground turkey instead of beef. You know the sauce is good when you can't even tell you used turkey! Will definitely make again.
