Grandma's Frozen Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
Made it exact for a pot luck. A lot of people tried it, including myself. I got no compliments or request for the recipe. The second pie sat on the table. I personally did not like it either. Something was just off putting about it.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2013
Made this exactly as is. Was very disappointed. I think it was going as an Asian inspired dish but the flavors lacked and felt confused. I read the comments but seemed like to many changes to be the same dish. We ate it for dinner but no one wanted to eat the leftovers. Will not be making this again.

Baked Indian Pudding With Maple Syrup

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2013
Made this exactly as is. Needed a Native American recipe and this seemed more authentic than the other recipes I had seen and seemed a little more special. I was so glad I made this. It was surprising how good it was. It had such a great warm flavor without feeling to heavy. This would be great as a change up from thanksgiving pies or just when you want something warm and familiar for the fall season. I would also recommend this to go along with be a thanksgiving or fall breakfast. Will be making this again.

Brownie In a Mug

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2013
I was pretty disappointed with this recipe. I wasn't a thick dense cake but more of a thick mush. Also the taste of olive oil was overwhelming. It did taste like chocolate though.

Strawberry Pineapple Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2013
This was very good and I will add this to my recipe box with my alterations to our taste. I did make this exactlly as written. I did not like the nuts and prefer fresh fruit and half a cup less sugar. Also I will probably puree the fruit from now on so there are not gaps when the fruit cooks down. Thank you for the recipe.

Mango Freezer Treat

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2013
Not bad but not a favorite. I followed the recipe exactly and the ingredients. Still came out a little ice block to me. Maybe it would be cool to use this a flavored ice cube in a fuity drink. You have to use heavy cream or whole milk or it will be a block of ice.

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2013
I can't get enough of this dish. I eat it with steamed cabbage and use red Hawiian sea salt. If you make this you must use the three ingredients stated in the dish. You CAN NOT substitue here even a little.

Classic Thanksgiving Dressing With Parsley, Sage and Thyme

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2013
Everytime I make something posted by this person it does not come out right. The flavor was there but it turned out soggy in some places and dry in others. I followed the recipe to the letter. I would say I am a good cook and have not had such issue with any authors recipes except this one. Glad others have not had issue and I will just move on to other authors.

Southern Sweet Potato Bread with Pecans

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2013
My spouse and I hated sweet potatoes. I wanted to see if my children would eat them. They appeared to dislike them as well after I made two different dishes out of them. So I had one sweet potatoe left. I didn't want to throw it out but dreaded making something out of it to possibly throw away. I came across this recipe. Saw it was pretty easy to put together and another reviewer compared it to pumpkin bread which we like. So I went for it and just tried it. I like it and will let it sit the night and have the family try it in the morning. Thank you for this recipe and not wasting a sweet potatoe. If I find myself with one or two again I definetlly know what I am making.

Spicy Korean Slow Cooked Chicken (Dhak Dori Tang)

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2012
The smell and taste of this and instantly brought back feelings from my childhood. I can't explain it but it envoked so much emotion to me. What is even more odd is my mother never made this dish. Thank you for such a food experience. As to note the actual recipe. I made this exact with all the ingedients. Next time I will scale back to 2 tablespoons pepper paste and 1/2 teaspoon rep pepper flake. Also please try to go buy the gochujang. It is what makes the dish just right, gives it a nice depth with a little heat and it's own kind of slight sweet note. You will not find the same flavor in other sauces. You can pick up a small jar at a Korean market for around three dollars. Just make sure it is a deep red and it will look like tooth paste.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2012
This recipe is so good with so much flavor. You could even dress it up a bit if you wanted (ex. ham, carrots, peas.) but as for rating the original recipe it is great. I have made this three times but I had to rate it today because last night my one & two year old ate it. The both loved it so even though the recipe will suite a more complex palets it was enjoyed by my very small children and I was able to make it lactose free. Thank you so much for this simple yet delcious recipe.

Middle Eastern Rice with Black Beans and Chickpeas

Not horible but very bland. It was just missing something. Maybe seasoning the meat would be a better idea but I did not like the taste enough to try this again.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2012
Excellent cookie. Mine came out a little saltier then I like but that comes down to the ingredients I choose since obviously there is no salt in this recipe. I did follow it exact except did only half. I didn't need six dozen cookies in my house but I got exactlly 36 cookies so great measurements. This cookie is so soft and delish. Took very little time for me to make which was amazing I got this done with a just turned two year old trying to "help" and a just turned five month old who wants constant attention. Highly recommend this. *update* I was a little disapointed the next day because these cookies got a little soggie like. So I thought maybe I'll throw these in the toaster oven on toast (not toaster) and believe it or not they came out just like new and with a little light crisp on top but still chewy!!
