Garlic Cauliflower

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
Excellent!! I've looked for a long time for a cauliflower recipe that was healthy and had flavor. This has it all! I have to admit, while looking at the amount of liquid/sauce, I was skeptical that it would sufficiently coat the cauliflower. It did. Was wonderful. This will become part of my regular rotation for certain. Thanks!

Brie Cheese Appetizer

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2011
Excellent!! My first try was wonderful! I wasn't serving a particularly large group, so I took two brie wedges and placed them side by side to create a rectangle. I did not have to chill the brie and was able to cut it as it was. I used unperforated crescent dough and raspberry preserves. I did not oil the pyrex dish in which I cooked it enough and had a hard time getting it out of the pan. Also, use the preserves generously. I thought I did when I made it, but it wasn't enough. But, overall, wonderful, SUPER EASY recipe.

Excellent sauce!!! Used creamy horseradish to taste. Wonderful! First time I served it, I had both couple who were guests ask for the recipe.

Jean's Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2010
Absolutely excellent. Didn't use any water. Next time, I believe I will add at least a cup. However, the flavor was wonderful. I also sauteed one clove of garlic with the chicken and ginger. Rave reviews from my bf. Thanks for a great post!

Broccoli with Roasted Red Peppers

Excellent! I probably put just a little bit too much salt in. I will probably cut it back to about half that amount next time. Thanks for the great recipe!

Broccoli Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
Excellent. I have been looking for a chicken and broccoli dish like this for a long time. This is it. I changed it slightly. I always add water chestnuts or bamboo shoots, carrots, 2 scallions. I cut the liquid amounts by about 75% and I make the liquid portion in a separate pan. (Basically, I add just as much liquid is as needed to the pan with the chicken and veggies to create the desired consistency of sauce.) Quick easy, healthy. Thanks for posting!

Chicken and Red Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
Excellent. My very picky boyfriend RAVED about it. I changed it slightly based on others reviews. I reduced the brown sugar (I made the dish for 2, so the original recipe for 2 called for 2 Tbs, 2 tsps brown sugar - I added about 1.5 - 2 tsps total). Cut the paprika to 1/4 of a tsp (again, it called for 1/2 based on 2 servings. Personal preference - my boyfriend is not a "spicy" guy with food). Also upped the red wine by twice that for which the recipe called. I was a little skeptical about the brown sugar/paprika combo. But, WOW. Great! Wonderful! A new staple in our house!

Brownie Caramel Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
This was excellent with some changes. I made all of the batter according to the directions for brownies with a cake-like consistency from a 19 oz box of Duncan Hines Family Style Chewy Brownie Mix. I then used only 9 oz of the made up batter. Probably will up that slightly to 12 oz or so next time. Cooked it for 12 minutes. Let it sit briefly. Poured on the caramel. Used 3 bars of cream cheese, 3/4 cup sugar, and 1 1/2 tsps vanilla extract. Cooked 40 minutes in a water bath. Came out perfectly! I served it at a 4th of July party and had 3 requests (out of 4 couples) for the recipe! Everyone raved. Thanks!

Spaghetti Squash I

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
I've gotten a lot of excellent recipes off of this web site. But, this one? It's in the top one or two. I've never even tried to cook spaghetti squash before! Absolutely wonderful. Great flavors. Filling but light at the same time. I'm absolutely thrilled with this. Thank you!! PS I had a HUGE squash... it took an extra :15 in the oven.

Spicy Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2008
Very good. But, because I was only cooking for myself, I only used 2 peppers, and 2 tbsps of oil. I should also have cut the water in half. It ended up a little watery. Also, how does one properly turn poppyseeds into a paste? I had a very tough time with that. Any suggestions?

Cioppino

Reviewed: May 15, 2008
I was looking for a Cioppino that emulated the amazing dish that I've had several times at an award-winning Italian restaurant in Miami. THIS IS BETTER! My boyfriend is Italian and has had the cioppino at the restaurant. He liked this better. I used a little bit (but not much) of olive oil instead of butter. It was amazing. The leftover "fish stew" is perhaps even better the next day. (I simply made too much for two). Excellent! Kudos.

Rosemary Red Potatoes

This recipe was simple to make and got rave reviews from my guests. I added 2 cloves of garlic, doubled the salt (I used sea salt), and used fresh rosemary. They took about an hour to bake. Excellent.
