Great recipe, thick and filling. Made it as is the first time, was able to lighten it up the second time by mixing the flour with a cup of the broth instead of making a roux and adding fat free half and half instead of the heavy cream. At the end of cooking, I added a tablespoon of whipped butter just to make it a little richer. These changes made the soup a reasonable weight watchers points+ value as calculated on etools. I added a lot of pepper. Would benefit from a little thyme. I like mushrooms, but my family doesn't so I added some to my bowl and let the heat of the soup "cook" the mushrooms. Reheats well in the microwave.
