About this Cook
I'm a 24 year old woman who loves to cook for family and friends! I learned most of what I know from my Mother and the rest from experimenting. Cooking is a passionate hobby for me but my friends say I should make it a business. They are always drooling over my experiments.
My favorite things to cook
Broccoli Cheese Casserole, Appetizers, Oven Baked Meats, Beef Stew, Potatoes, Macaroni Cheese Casserole, Apple or Peach Dumplings, Cornish Hens, Homemade Soups, and Casseroles. I also enjoy preparing Mexican and Italian dishes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My MoM and I preparing two days in advance slicing and dicing for our yearly Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years Feast. Consisting of homemade cornbread dressing w/ chopped giblets and shredded chicken (out of this world), tender flavorful greens, buttery sweet candied yams, brown sugar honey baked ham among others. In recent years I have included my mouth watering homemade broccoli cheese casserole, and secret recipe roasted turkey. It’s always a wonderful celebration! My mother is the best cook I know and she tells me ALL of her secrets! People can’t get enough of our masterful dishes especially dad!
My cooking triumphs
Jambalaya for Christmas Eve 2006. It featured shrimp, chicken, sausage, and ham! As soon as people started tasting it the whole pot was empty. Even my little godson Jordan (in the featured photo) 3yrs at the time and his little brother loved it. They ate 2 bowls!
My cooking tragedies
The first time using my slow cooker I let chops simmer in mushroom soup and onions for 13 hours! They were mushy and way over cooked! Yuck I had to throw them out! Learned my lesson and now the slow cooker is my friend.

Bubba's Jambalaya
Quite delicious!!! I cooked the rice separately and used 1 can crushed tomatoes, 1 can tomato sauce, and used large fresh shrimp. Some extra seasonings, garlic powder and a little sugar to cut bitterness of tomatoes (maybe 1/2 tsp). Finally I added in about a cup of frozen okra 5 min before it was done. Served over buttered white rice w/ crusty french bread. My hunny could eat this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

Simple BBQ Ribs
Finger Lickin' Good!!!!!!! I included a few additions which include: 1 can chicken broth, 1 can beef broth, 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1TBS Worcestershire Sauce, 1 onion quartered, cajun seasoning, 1 bottle Sweet Baby Ray's Original BBQ Sauce and 1 bottle Sweet Baby Ray's Honey BBQ Sauce. The results were a standing ovation after the meal. Served w/ green bean and carrot medley and Pioneer Woman's Hot Crashed Potatoes. Yum! Yum! Yum! Thaaank you for a great way to tenderize and flavorize ribs inside. That meat just pulled away from the bone so easily my hunny was smiling and mmmming throughout the entire meal! It’s a winner all the way! Please try it with my suggestions gathered myself as well as other reviews

Gulliver's Cream Corn
So good!!! Omitted the MSG (I'd NEVER put that in our food), did not use the flour either. I halved the recipe but kept the butter, sugar and salt the same. It was the best cream corn I ever tasted, will NEVER BUY CANNED AGAIN!!!!
