Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2014
This was met by rave reviews by my husband, 7 & 9 year old, and teenager. And I forgot to add the cream!

Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2014
Perfect! This was the recipe I remembered from camp, making this over the fireplace. Since I was mysteriously out of brown, I made due with white sugar and extra cinnamon.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2014
Wow. This was as easy to make and delicious to eat as everyone says. I did follow another reviewer's suggestion of just placing the dough in the pan and smoothing out the breaks, skipping the rolling. It was gone fast!

Apple Pork Chops and Stuffing

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2014
This was as easy as advertised, and delicious, too! I had extra pork chops, so I did one pan with sliced, green apples (skip the processed and over sugared pie filling) and a second one with sliced onion. I made a gravy to with it, but it was perfectly moist.

Easy Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2013
This came out great! I made it as directed, although I considered reducing the water. In the future, I could see doing that to allow the apples to keep a little more crisp, but my whole family loved the apples mushy.

No Sour Cream Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: May 4, 2013
I used fresh mushrooms (they're always better) and chicken broth (because that's what I had). Came out delicious!

Honeyed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2013
This was scrumptious! Next time I make this, once the pork is done in the oven, I will add some thickening to the sauce before serving. Perfect with rice or noodles!

Grandma Jeanette's Amazing German Red Cabbage

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2013
Spot on! The sweet-sour taste may not appeal to everyone, but this tastes exactly as it should. The only change I made was to use the same amount of sugar as vinegar because I prefer a little less sour. This is a very easy way to cook cabbage.

Restaurant Style Egg Drop Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2012
My Chinese exchange student declared this to taste just like at home! I omitted the ginger because I didn't realize until too late that I was out. Also, as other reviewers suggested, I added the eggs last. Perfect!

Yum. I made this using frozen berries and it came out just right. Good flavor and perfect thickness.

Tomato Zucchini Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2012
Fantastic! Since I had a rectangular pan instead of a square one, I only did one layer. I think with two layers, the cheese would be more oozy in the middle, but it was the flavor was perfect!

Baking Powder Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2012
Perfect! I usually try to avoid recipes with shortening because it is a pain to measure and work with, but I am very glad I tried these. I did add some extra shortening (about another 1/4 cup) in order to get the "coarse crumbs", and then it took almost ten minutes to get it there. My kids had them for breakfast, smeared with jelly. Best drop biscuits I've made!

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: May 5, 2012
Very good! I don't usually marinate a roast, but I decided to try. I did put an onion under the roast - it works as a grate to lift the meat up a bit and adds some nice flavor. I also used this recipe with a red wine vinegar instead of balsamic. I would serve it for company either way.

Oven Fries

Reviewed: May 5, 2012
Fantastic!! My kids loved the "Homemade French Fries"! Instead of cayenne pepper (they don't do spicy), I used rosemary. Next time I'll try another herb.

BBQ Country Style Ribs

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2012
Wonderfully simple and delicious. I did follow other suggestions of covering with foil, then I baked at 300 for 2 hours, then another hour uncovered with sauce. I also seasoned the meat with salt, pepper and garlic before laying the lemon on top. Definitely will do this again!

I do not like fish, but I actually enjoyed this dish. I particularly liked the browned Parmesan cheese sauce.

Wow! They came out great, even when I accidentally measured the baking soda with a tablespoon instead of a teaspoon!

Baked Omelet

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2012
Simple and flexible. Came out great even though it had to sit for a half hour before we ate (family came home late). I omitted the ham because my kids like their eggs and meat separate and they were disappointed when the dish was empty! I served it with sour cream and salsa.

Cheddar Cabbage Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2012
What a great dish! I have used this sauce (cream soup + mayo) for other veggies and for chicken, never would have thought for cabbage, but it came out great. I really like that the cabbage doesn't need to be cooked before being baked. I made two changes because of what I had on hand: cream of mushroom soup and and almond flakes cereal only on top (as other reviewers suggested). Definitely will be making this again.

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2012
Delicious and simple, doesn't get any better! It was the exact amount to fill all 24 cups with no leftover batter. And, once baked, there were no leftover muffins to store because we ate them all.
