About this Cook
I am a wife of fifteen years and a mother of three. I have been a stay at home mom for the past fourteen years and my kids are just getting old enough that I have a little time away from the house to work part time. I love to take care of my family and my home. These days my kids are very active with sports and the like and are pickier about their food than ever before, so I have to keep things interesting.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook usually fall into the comfort food category, which isn't usually the healthiest choice. I like to experiment with salads, unfortunately I do not write my creations down on paper and never get it quite the same twice, when I give my recipes out I usually don't give exact measurements, I just list the ingredients and tell you to give it a whirl!
My cooking triumphs
A cooking triumph for me is simply being able to please four individuals with different tastes all at the same time.
My cooking tragedies
I once tried to make "aplet and cotlet" type candies. I wasn't aware of how to properly use the unflavored gelatin, and when the recipe called for the gelatin and the water, it did not make reference to the fact that the gelatin needed to "set" with the water to gel, so the candies never really set up, they were horrible!

Chocolate Frosting V
I use this more like a ganache type frosting. This is my go-to recipe if I am out of butter. Followed the directions and it has never been gritty like others have mentioned.

Oven Baked Jambalaya
Every person in my family, plus guests enjoyed this meal! It is hard to please EVERY member of my family, so this recipe is a keeper. Followed the directions, didn't change a thing and it was great!
