Buttermilk Chocolate Cake with Fudge Icing

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2010
Have made this cake 3 times now and each time it turned out sucessful. I personally made the cake just in a 9 x 13 pan... just due to face that is what worked for my crowd. I did not use the icing though, I didn't think it would be well recipe, so I used a butter icing with cocoa in it... that was great on the cake..... naturally sprinkles for the kids!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies I

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2010
I would give these cookies a five! Our family whole family liked these cookies. The second time I made them I did add an extra 1/4 tsp. of cinnamon... a 1/4 tsp. nutmeg and 1/4 tsp. ginger.... by accident (as I had another cookie recipe on the go) I put in a package of vanilla instant pudding mix.... o.k. will keep doing that, but not by accident. I also cooked the raisins up ahead of time so that they would be plump and will definitely do that again as well. Totally a keeper. With my modifications... I would like to give them six stars, but that isn't available.

Glazed Apple Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2010
These were pretty good! I added a bit more flour 1 tbsp. so that they would not spread quite as much. I also cooked the raisins in a little water first to reconstitute them and I think that made them nicer in the cookie... a little plump. Will make them again.

Fruity Sweet and Sour Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
Everyone in our house thought this sauce was O.K. and had too much cherry... my thought would be to decrease the cherry juice to about 1/3.... I probably would have had a winner then..... also someone commented that they would blend up the cherrries, yes, that's a possibility but again I think the cherry taste would be even stronger... You can always add a little more cherry juice while your cooking it... but you can't take it away....

Sour Cream Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
This was a really good cake and an awesome way to use up soured cream I had in the house!!! We enjoyed the icing a lot, but I am glad that I put a cooked custard inbetween the layers rather than more icing... I think if I would have used icing it between the layers it would have been too much.... tasted great all around... Made this for a Birthday and everyone enjoyed it.

White Almond Wedding Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
Wow!!! This turned out great and I followed the recipe exactly. The batter smells so good and while it was baking it was great too... I had a different purpose for this cake... I had an order for a strawberry shortcake, but they didn't want a biscuit kind of cake... I used this, but put it in 3 - 9 inch round pans, was the perfect amount of cake for each layer... still nice and firm... great!

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
Five stars says it all! My family loved it... though, I did have to make a few modifications because I do not live close to town and I have to work with what is on hand. 1. I didn't have italian bread crumbs on hand, so I subsituted regular crumbs and added some italian seasonings... oregano etc. 2. I did not have colby on hand so used medium cheddar. I took the advise of others and kept it in little cubes. I also added dried onions as was suggested earlier as well. It was awesome! Definitely will be making it again.

Hot Pizza Dip by 3-A-Day™of Dairy

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
I made this recipe for New Years and it was the first thing eaten by the crowd. I did not have green onion on hand so I shook in a bit of onion powder into the base. I did have green pepper so I added some of that so it would have the nice red and green colour. It was also simple to make so that is a HUGE bonus! It will definitely be made again!

Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
These cookies tasted absolutely wonderful and the rice krispies gave it the crunch along with the chewy... they did get quite flat though and I think in my next batch I might mix in a bit of oatmeal and I think they would stay together a bit better as well....

Jeanne's Chocolate Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
I enjoyed this recipe, and it really went over well with the chocolate lovers in my family.... the only thing is that my cookies did not turn out like the recipe...mine were quite flat! I think it is very very important to make sure you make these smaller rather than on the bigger side... the smaller balls seemed to keep a bit rounder like the photograph... also, once the first batch goes into the oven you are busy rolling the next batch, so at least to speed up the process, unwrapped the kisses ahead of time. I also needed more suger than the 1/3 c. for rolling the chocolate balls in. Everyone liked them and I will make them again.

Dark Chocolate Cake II

This chocolate cake was great! The only change I did was use 1 cup of buttermilk, rather than regular milk. It turned out great. I just put a simple chocolate icing on it and everyone loved it. I will definitely make this again!

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2007
This cake was absolutely wonderful and I followed the recipe to the letter. The only thing I did different was to bake it an additional 20 minutes as did many other people. I have never put a cake directly in the freezer, but did that, and it was wonderful too! I will definitely make this cake again. This would be great to take to a Potluck!

Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

Made these cookies, but the only change I made was that I used milk choc. chips and chopped them ultra fine in place of the grated milk chocolate. They were absolutely wonderful. I am sure I will make these again. Makes a nice sized batch!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III

Reviewed: May 24, 2007
Everyone LOVED these cookies. The only thing I changed was I increased the cream for the filling by another teaspoon as we found that to be rather dry, so keep a watch on that. Everything about these we loved. We will definitely be making these again!

Buttermilk Pound Cake II

Reviewed: May 8, 2007
This pound cake was excellent. I accidentally ran out of lemon extract so I could only add 1/2 tsp. So I added a full teaspoon of almond extract and the tsp. of vanilla. My family loved this flavour! I am not sure what happened for some people to have this turn out as light, my seemed the right texture weight for a pound cake. I baked this cake for 70 minutes as suggested by other reviews. This is definitely a cake I plan on making many times.
