Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2011
Made these for Christmas dinner and served with Ham, altho I like these potataoes I would have preferred a cheesy kind to go with the ham. I will make these again(I followed the recipe) but will pair it with a different meat. Seemed like a great lighter alternative to the usual potatoes. Go ahead and put the onions in you can't taste them after they have cooked down.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
I made this exactly as written and everyone who has ever had a slice says it is the best cake they have ever eaten. I didn't put the powdered sugar on top....this needs nothing on it!!!! It is that good!! It is not too sweet but it is very yummy indeed!! Thanks for sharing :)

Garlic Potatoes Gratin

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
These were great! Followed the recipe except added onions. I cooked the potatoes a tad before slicing, I didn't have any issues with seperation but think you had to cook longer then suggested. I did cover with foil for 30 minutes, but I should have done it a bit longer, maybe 45 mins as the top was very brown and the potatoes just a tad undercooked. will adjust time. This was excellant with Ham on Easter and do not skip the Gouda (I used smoked) I think that is what makes this dish! Thanx I will make again!!

Absolutely Delicious Green Bean Casserole from Scratch

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
This was a great recipe! I followed the directions except I cooked the onions and mushrooms(used the kind suggested and they were worth the $$)together. Tossed them with the green beans then did the sauce after that seperately. I wish I had blanched the beans just a tad longer then suggested. The lemon zest is the key, resist the urge to add more as I did because it would have been too much had I given in to temptation!! Had other things in the oven so really didn't watch the cook time but it was more like 30-40 minutes!! I will make this again!! Thanx!

Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
This was the BEST ham I have ever had, Period. I was a little concerned because of the cost of the meat and it was Easter but decided why not. I had a double smoked bone in ham @ 7-8 lbs fully cooked. I put the brown sugar in the bottom, put ham in poured a little bit of pineapple juice on top and rubbed brown sugar all over the ham. Cooked on low for 4 hours and never lifted the lid. Wonderful rave reviews, juicy, cut like a dream!! I will never make a ham any other way EVER!! Thanx for such a great recipe!!!

Boneless Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
Yummy! This takes awhile to prepare and cook but be patient, it is sooo worth it! I have looked for a recipe that rivals our fav restaurant and this is the one. I will make these again, followed the recipe exactly but used Franks Buffalo sauce instead. Next time I will double the spices and use less butter in the Sauce. :)

Bacon Wrapped Bratwurst

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
I made this for an Octoberfest party and it was a huge hit!! I of course made more then the recipe called for because I knew they would go fast :) I like things spicy so it worked for me but I am sure this would be good with out the CP. I cooked the brats in the morning and put them in the fridge until I was ready to assemble and cook. It did take a while to do that but it was worth the time. This recipe was delish and I will definately make it again.

Beer Margaritas

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
AMAZING! I made these for a gathering and followed the recipe exactly, if you are not a heavy drinker I would put less Tequila in this, as a full can of Tequila made for a lively and fun party but make sure you have a designated driver to take people home! Went through 4 cans of Limeade and a big bottle of booze. Salted the rims and served over tons of ice in big tall glasses. A definate keeper and you can use whatever light beer you have on hand. That icky sweet taste that has stopped me in the past from serving these for friends isn't in this drink!! ENJOY!

Spicy South of the Border Spinach Cheese Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2010
This was awesome! Done this 3 X already for parties.... I have made this exactly as written and then also with a small can of diced jalenpenos(sp?)instead of the green chilis cuz I was out that day/with 2 cans of rotel instead of the tomatoes(I was out of the tomatoes) Sprinkle cumin on top (I am generous with it) and this goes from good to die for. There is never any leftovers.

Pumpkin Cake III

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2007
I made this recipe exactly how it is written but used a bundt pan instead as I like the presentation better for company then the plain old flat pans, had to cook it awhile longer because of that but this was fantastic! I also used the cream cheese II frosting recipe on this site that other reviewers suggested I only had one brick of cream cheese when I went to make it so I cut the recipe in half and it was plenty! Moist and delicious! This will definately be made again and again! THANKS!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2007
Great recipe! We will make this a staple at our Thanksgiving table! Very easy and turned out great, I cut the bread in cubes the night b4 and left it out overnight to get crunchy I didn't toast the cubes in the oven. I used the turkey broth from boiling the giblets but was planning on using chicken broth. I kept adding more bread cubes once I started mixing the broth in and realized the recipe called for stuffing the turkey.. OOPS! Turkey was already in the oven, cooked stuffing in a casserole dish for 30 minutes on 375. You can mess with this recipe all day and it will still come out fantastic!

Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2007
Made this exactly like the recipe and it wasn't good. The sage sausage was overpowering and ruined the recipe for me. I would definately substitute to regular sausage and I would change the hashbrowns to something with onions or peppers in it. Was disappointed and I wouldn't make this again.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2007
I made this soup exactly how it was written up and it was awesome! It is even better the next day! Mine came out thicker like a chili but if you wanted it to be more like a soup add more beer! What a great new recipe for me to share at the next football or hockey gathering! Yummy!
