Unstuffed Cabbage Dinner

This was very good, although I had to make many changes to match what I had in the fridge. I used ground turkey, chicken stock, cole slaw mix, and brown rice, jar tomato sauce instead of the V8, and a mix of curry and cayan pepper instead of the soup mix. But it was excellent, my boyfriend called it "a keeper", and there is PLENTY left so I froze some for another night.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

This was my first ever crock pot recipe, and it was a big hit. I used chicken thighs, and after six hours on high, pulled the bones out, shredded the meat, and let cook for another hour. It was delicious. I did however leave out the brown sugar, and I'm glad I did. It was still very sweet.

Egg Drop Soup II

I'll give the recipe the benefit of the doubt, because the other reviewers said it was good. But, as I learned, DO NOT use egg substitute (i.e. better than eggs). I cannot begin to explain what the broth did.

Classic Bangers and Mash

This came out fantastic! I made some changes, based on what I had. I used turkey sausage and used my own mashed potatos recipe. It was simple, tasty and comforting. I served it with some smashed peas with mint. Definately a keeper.

London Broil II

This makes a very tasty marinade. I through it together in a ziplock baggie in the morning, and left it to marinate in the fridge all day. We cooked the meat under the broiler instead of grilling it. The meat was tender and juicy.

Thai Style Shrimp

Tasted like a dish you would pay $10 for at a Thai restaurant. Coconut and spices go well without an overpowering aftertaste. The only changes I made was substituting cilantro for the basil, and using frozen, cooked shrimp. Served over brown rice with a side of summer rolls. Excellent.

Parmesan Sage Pork Chops

These were very good. I had to cook porkchops for dinner for my inlaws, I don't like pork, had never cooked pork before, and they RAVED about this dish. I used boneless chops, so I adjusted the cooking time, but otherwise followed the recipe as is. A+

Spicy Grilled Shrimp

I thought these were very good. I cut down the salt, but otherwise followed the recipe to the letter. I like my food spicy, and thought these could use a bit more kick, but the husband and I still enjoyed these.

Stuffed Butternut Squash

Like another reviewer, I didn't stuff the squash--I just mixed the cubed squash with the other veggies. I used brown rice because that's all I had. It was ok, tasty and filling, but not spectacular. Update: I added another star. I made it again, followed the recipe more closely, and it was much better.

JENNIE-O's Best Ever Meatloaf

This is the the best basic turkey meatloaf I have ever made. The only change I made was use an extra 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs. Simple and very very good. This is my new go-to recipe.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

This recipe came out fantastic. I replaced the mushrooms with green peppers out of personal preference, and loved it. The chicken came out tender, sweet and tangy.

Italian Chicken and Chickpeas

This was very, very good, but like other reviewers said, it is spicy. I like spicy, so I really enjoyed the dish, but if I was cooking for children, I would definitely cut back on the cayenne and red pepper. I added a chopped onion and pepper when sautéing the garlic, just to bulk it up a bit. I will definitely be making this again.

Seared Ahi Tuna Steaks

This was super simple and tasty. I used less salt than the recipe called for, and more peppercorns. I probably overcooked the steaks, and they were still fantastic. I will definitely cook these again.

Vegetarian Stuffed Peppers

The husband and I loved these. It was my first time making stuffed peppers, these were easy and fantastic. I had to substitute walnuts and raisins, because that what was in the pantry, but otherwise followed the recipe word for word. I will be making these again soon.

Baingan Bharta (Eggplant Curry)

This was very tasty. The only change I made was using a can of diced tomatoes (with liquid) instead of the tomato. It made the dish extra saucey, which is my preference. Will def. make it again.

Argentine Lentil Stew

I really wanted to like this recipe. I thought it came out a little better than okay, and would have given it three stars, but my husband would not eat it at all. I don't think that the bbq sauce and apples mix well together. I think it works in concept, but still needs a little tweaking.
