Roasted Okra

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2013
My whole family really enjoyed these. I took the suggestion of another reviewer and soaked the okra in water and lime juice I didn't notice that it helped much but I also don't mind the sliminess of okra. Other than the water and lime I made as the recipes calls for. I will definitely make these again.

Grilled Rosemary Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2013
I made this last night for dinner and my family enjoyed it. The pork chop was tender and juicy. I started with just 4 tbsp. of brown sugar and I added about 1 tbsp. of minced garlic. I tasted the marinade before adding the pork and found it plenty sweet with just the 4tbs of brown sugar. I only marinated the pork for about and 1 in the fridge I took the meat out of the fridge and let it sit on the counter for about 20 min. It was too cold to grill so I used my grill pan the get the grill marks and then put the meat in a 350 degree oven for about 12-15 min and it turned out great. Will make this again.

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2012
My family and I really enjoyed this. I have a 3yo and a 12yo and they couldn't get enough. My husband said I needed to make this on a regular basis. I did add some fresh steamed broccoli and a layer of sharp cheddar cheese before putting on the cracker crumbs. I love this recipe because there is so much you can do with it. For the chicken I pan seared it first then added water to cover. To that I added half an onion, some chopped celery, and three cloves of smashed garlic. When the chicken was done I took it out of the broth to cool. While the chicken was cooling I strained the broth brought it back to a boil and cooked my pasta I used bowtie. I also used my dutch oven. This recipe is a winner and will be in regular rotation in our household.

Bacon-Wrapped Pork Chops With Seasoned Butter

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2012
I made these for dinner tonight my whole family enjoyed this. I did mine under the broiler and my bacon turned out perfect. I seasoned the pork chops with Kosher salt, pepper, a little adobo seasoning and with Grill Mates Montreal Steak. To the butter topping I added some chopped fresh parsley. I served this delightful pork chop with risotto and steamed vegetables.

Detroit Hot Honey Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
My family and I love this recipe. My 10 year old daughter is especially fond of it. She asks me to make it at least once a week. I do add more cayenne pepper and I bake the wings in the oven on 425 for about 30 - 40 min. After they are done baking I turn the broiler on to crisp up the skin. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2010
My husband loves Italian food so I made this for our anniversary and it was the best thing ever. I made the sauce the night before because sauce is always better the next day. The only change I made was to add fresh mushrooms to the sauce. Everyone loved loved loved it! My 10 year old had two hearty helpings and I had to stop feeding my 15 month old she had eaten so much. Any time I need pasta sauce this will def be the sauce I will be making! As with the sauce getting better the next day the lasagna also got better the next day. If you want to make a dish that people WILL RAVE over this is the one to make!!!! I served with a side salad and some homeade garlic bread.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2010
These muffins were so good. I made them yesterday and actually got 12 muffins out of the batter and I am glad I did because if I only got 8 then we would only have 1 left! I used frozen blueberries and for the crumb topping I also used brown sugar in addition to the white. I didn't have any muffing liners so I greased a floured the muffin cups and it was a breeze to get them out. From now on I will certainly be keeping some frozen blueberries on hand.

Chicken and Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2010
This was pretty good! I didn't have any white wine so I just used chicken broth I also used the chicken broth in place of the water. The default picture really doesn't do this recipe justice. Based on the picture alone I wasn't going to try this recipe but I took a leap of faith and went with it and I am glad I did!

Spicy Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2010
This was awesome my husband and I loved it! I made it for dinner last night to go with a Spanish tortilla. I did have to make a few changes I used canned black beans and I didn't have any ham so I used smoked sausage. Instead of canned diced tomatoes I used some tomatoe sauce. I also pureed half the soup

This was really good I made it for lunch for myself today. It was so good I had to take a picture of it with my phone and send it to my husband. I can't wait to make this for him! What I did do different was use plain cream cheese mixed with spicy brown mustard and I used a whole leafy green lettuce leaf. This is a quick, easy and delicious meal.

Kung Pao Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
This was really good. Both my husband and I enjoyed it. My daughter who loves chips and hot sauce found this a little too hot for her (go figure). I did use hot chili sauce instead of the paste because it was all i had on hand and flour instead of corn starch.

Crepes

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
In reading the reviews I almost didn't follow the recipe. I almost added sugar so glad I didn't. I followed the recipe exactly as written. We loved these! We filled ours with vanilla ice cream, bananas and chocolate syrup. Out of this world. Can't wait to have them again tonight. If you are looking for a versatile great crepe recipe this is the one. With the first bite of whatever you fill it with you can tell it can be made to be savory or sweet.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

This was great. I roasted a chicken and used half of it for this recipe and the other half for dinner the next night. I also used the juices from the roasting pan and made a gravy to add more flavor to the pot pie.

Baked Potato

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
This is a classic you can not go wrong with this. My daughter and I love a good baked potato and this is how we do it. After it is done we usually add a bit of salt/pepper, butter, bacon and green onions. For a nice simple meal add a salad and you are good to go!!
