Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
Great tasting and super easy to make, what's not to love? I used the microwave version since I wanted a quick dip to munch on while at work. It is wonderful, thank you!

Dog Food Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
Oh....my....god! If I could give this more than five stars, I would! I'm doing everything in my power to stay away from the fridge right now before I devour it all! And yes, it really does look like dog food ha ha. The only changes I made are that I used about 4 oz of jalapenos, and 1 8 oz. block of sharp cheddar cheese mixed with a cup of shredded Chipotle cheddar. Thanks Cindy, I know I'll be making this quite often!

Tapenade Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
A very creamy pasta salad. It can be eaten either cold or warm. I prefer it a bit on the chilled side.

Teena's Spicy Pesto Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2007
Wow, LAGIRL, you have really outdone yourself! This dish is incredible! The only changes are I used spiral pasta, and romano cheese instead of parmesan. By the way, for those of you who substitute chili powder, it's not quite the same as the paste (though if you don't have/can't find the paste, it should work). It's thick and spicy, and really enhances the flavor for the chicken. I found mine in the produce section of Ultra Foods (I would assume it'd be in the same place as other major grocery stores. I had never heard of chili paste before until I accidentally stumbled upon it and realized what it was.) They are in squeeze tubes, near the fresh herbs. Look for it, because the paste makes all the difference! Wonderful, wonderful recipe! Hands down, a keeper!

Watermelon Salsa

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2007
Like other reviewers stated, the ingredients combination may throw you off, but once you taste it, it's incredible! I substituted the Anaheim pepper for two seeded jalapenos, and I also added a pinch of dill weed.

Deep Fried Jalapeno Slices

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2007
I'd give this ten stars if I could. The only regret is I could have easily used more peppers, as I still had plenty of batter left over. I'll be making this again very soon, thanks!

Sausage Sauerkraut Supper

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2007
This was incredible, all day the house smelled wonderful. I used diced white potatoes, and I cut the sausage into 1 inch slices instead, but otherwise followed as written. This will be added to my rotation, thanks!

Ramen Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2007
This is wonderful! At first, I was unsure how this would come out, but it's great! I omitted the peas since I don't care for them, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. This is a keeper for sure, thank you! *12/26/07* I made this again today, and this time added bacon bits and dill weed as other reviewers suggested. These additions are a nice touch to the orginal recipe. Give it a try.

Mexican Quinoa

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2014
I loved this! I followed exactly as written, including using a fresh diced jalapeno. I did get a bit nervous when the quinoa took longer to cook than I'm used to, but it came out perfect! I too added a can of rinsed and drained black beans. Of course to make it unhealthy, I added a small dollop of sour cream and a teaspoon of shredded cheddar cheese to mine. I doubt the bf will touch it (he's weary of quinoa), but perhaps if I drown his in cheese and sour cream, he just might touch it. Thanks for the recipe!

This was so good! I left out the Romano cheese since I didn't have any. Next time, I'll make sure I use that cheese though. Thanks Nancy!

Shells with Bacon and Beef Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2013
Alright, I changed this quite a bit, but I still used the same ingredients. I browned the beef, and then threw everything into the slow cooker on low for four hours (I'm a huge fan of my slow cooker, so I use it whenever possible). I added a good dash of Worcester sauce (love the stuff), about 1/4 cup of some leftover BBQ sauce (it NEEDED to be used somewhere), a dash of red pepper flakes, a can of Hunt's diced spicy red peppers in place of the tomato sauce (didn't have any), omitted the salt, and used rotini because I was out of shells. I only had Hormel real bacon pieces on hand, so I added those to the slow cooker in the final 10 minutes of cooking. When the pasta was cooked, I drained and rinsed it under cold water before I added it to the meat mixture in the slow cooker. The end result was fabulous; a hint of sweet from the BBQ sauce, and a bit of heat from the red pepper flakes and tomatoes. Thanks Alle (sorry for all the modifications!)

Reuben Pizza

Genius idea! I love both pizza and reubens, so of course I had to try this. I made a personal pizza for myself (7 inch) on premade Boboli pizza crust. It's absolutely delicious, I can't wait to make this again!

Cajun Popcorn

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2007
This is so good! I found the best way to coat the popcorn evenly with the seasonings is to pour some popcorn in the bowl, then pour some of the seasoning, and toss to coat. Repeat this until all the popcorn has been coated. Thanks for the recipe Ruby!

Simple Arrabbiata Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
Mmmm, so delicious. I've been craving a good, spicy pasta dish for a while now, and this dish fit the bill. Not only is it economical, but it is filling, and you can control how spicy it is according to your tastes. I found that by using extra garlic, salt and pepper, and the basil helps reduce the "metallic taste" from the canned tomatoes. Thanks for the quick, easy recipe, ROgg.

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2013
Hands down, the best dip ever! I followed the recipe to a "t", there's no need for any changes. Actually, I did use a bit more cheese than called for, but M's a cheese-a-holic so.... that's that! Keeping this for sure, thanks Tiffany!

Fabulous! I scaled it down to two servings, since it was just me eating this. It smelled delightful cooking, and although I was skeptical about the broccoli, the taste was amazing. I wish I had made this sooner, it is just wonderful. I plan on making this again real soon, thank you!

Easy Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
It was a cold day here in Chicago (we saw our first snow flurries)! I knew right away I needed something warm and filling, and looking through my recipe box, I stumbled onto this little gem. It was the perfect meal, this is to DIE for! I've never had pasta fagioli before, so I really can't compare it to anything. But this tasted absolutely wonderful! The only change I made was omitting the carrots, as I didn't have any on hand. I wish I had tried this one out sooner! But now I know it is a keeper for sure, thank you so much Cindy!
