Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
I'm not a fan of bananas, but my roommates had some that needed to be used up. The bread was good, however it was a bit dry because I overstirred it a little (I can't bake to save my life, even if I follow directions). It was fun to make, and my coworkers thought it was tasty. Thanks.

Pumpkin Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
What a nice twist on traditional chili. I followed the recipe to the letter, however I did throw in one chopped jalapeno. I gave some to my boyfriend's mom (a chiliholic) and she loved it (can't go wrong earning extra brownie points ;) ). I found that it tastes even better the next day, too. Thanks BMWRIGHT69.

Cholesterol King Heart Stopper 2000

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
I had a lot of fun making this, and was pleased with the end result. It looked like any party sub you'd buy in the store. I used a purple bell pepper because that is what was on hand, and omitted the mushrooms (personal preference).

Taco in a Bag

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
I loved this! The store I stopped at did not have the smaller chip bags, so I had to use a larger size. Regardless, this was quick, easy, and convenient. Thanks!

Pepper Pot Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
I was weary to try this recipe after reading the other review. However, I had all the ingredients on hand, so I gave it a go. I did make a few modificatons though. I used a little extra chicken bouillon, and added ground pepper to the simming veggies as well as using the pepper in the milk/flour mixture. My soup was very creamy, and full of flavor. Nice recipe, thanks AUNTYLENE.

Beer Dip I

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
Warning- this is addictive! My coworkers couldn't stop eating it. I was a bit weary to try this, because I tried another version of beer dip from this site, which bombed terribly. For the beer, I used Amstel Light, which I don't drink, but it was the only thing in the fridge. I think it tasted fabulous for this dip! I was so pleased that this recipe succeeded, but disappointed I brought home an empty dish. I'll be making this again, thank you!

Tomato, Basil, and Feta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
I made this for my roommates, and they devoured it in no time. It was a great way to use up our tomato and basil from the garden. Thanks!

Stracciatella I

What a quick, great tasting soup! Normally I do not care for parsley, but I found that it tasted great in this soup. Wonderful recipe, I didn't modify a thing. Ginny, thank you!

Asian Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2008
Not bad. I used a bit more cayenne pepper than stated, and also added some sesame seeds. I would recommend chopping the peppers; I think it would be easier to eat. :) Very quick and simple, thanks.

Pizzadillas

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
This was just okay. I didn't have tomato basil wraps, just regular tortilla wraps, but I don't know... they were just too plain for my liking. I'd have to add a lot more to it, like spices and maybe a second type of cheese. For picky eaters, I suppose this would be a nice treat for them. I probably won't make this one again, but thank you anyway.

Reuben Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
I've made a few variations of this dip, and well, they all pretty much taste the same to me. Still a good recipe, though. I like it best with small pieces of pumpernickel bread.

Habanero Pepper Cream Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
Wow! This DOES taste just like the Penne Rosa at Noodles & Company, which I can't get enough of. This was my first time using heavy cream, but I was quite pleased with how well the sauce turned out. The only modification was I used 1 whole, fresh habanero, since I couldn't find dried ones. No doubt about it, I'll be making this one over and over again. Thank you!

Chicago Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
My coworkers loved this dip, however I thought the taste was a bit off, I don't know why. I used a round sourdough loaf since that's all the store had, and everyone thought I brought this in from Panera Bread. Thanks for the post.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
At first glance, I had a feeling this would be a really boring, bland soup. Surprisingly, it was great! I didn't change a thing. Not sure if it does burn fat, but if I lost a pound or two, I won't complain. Thanks for the recipe.

Green Onion Salad

I didn't expect this to taste that great, but it was pretty darn good. I added a bit of crushed black pepper to mine. It was a good light dinner for me tonight, thanks.

Dumplings

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
This reminds me of dumplings my grandmother used to make. Neither my mother nor I got the recipe from her before she passed away, so I was ecstatic when I found it here. I added my dumplings to cream of chicken with rice soup. Thank you so much Carol!

Restaurant-Style Santa Fe Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
I enjoyed this, but I had to modify a few things. I didn't have the chicken, red wine vinegar, or tomato juice on hand, so I left those out (after scaling the recipe to four servings, I really didn't miss it). For the peppers, I used a tricolor mixture of precut peppers from Trader Joe's. Good stuff, thanks.

California Roll Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
Not bad. In place of the lettuce, I used Nori strips, but that was the only change I made. My coworkers weren't too crazy about it, but I thought it was alright. It was fun to try something different, thanks.
